About Me
My motto in life is the best is yet to come- its your girl Sophia heeeey! A long-term solo traveller and creative free-spirit embracing a slow, magical, and minimalistic lifestyle on the road. I've been travelling most of the last 4 years and currently back in the UK hoping to meet cool people :)
In travelling slow and living simple, I love to stay in places for extended periods of time and see my destinations through the eyes of the locals. I believe life's joy is in the simple things, in kindness, giving and friendship.
For me, Couchsurfing provides small hope for all these great things in the messy world we live in today.
My simple joys are in meeting likeminded people, random acts of kindness, eating delicious food, writing, animals, making music, interior design, watching the sunset. I love stumbling across a random restaurant and enjoying local food and the delights of the culture. Volunteering, laying in a forest with a book.
The key to enjoying all these things seems to be in travelling slow, being present, and embracing minimalism.
Mantra: don't wait for joy when you can create it today ✨️☮️

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting new people and would love to hear first-hand from a local about the ins and outs of where I'm staying. I find slower, authentic connections way more fulfilling compared to hostels. I loveeeee to hear and share crazy stories from life on the road.
Interests
International, social and economic development. I'm a dog lover, volunteer, free spirit and long term traveller. Music is my soul, love meeting people who can show me new artists and enjoy a vibe together. I'm forever chasing sunrises and sunsets and love nothing more than eating some delicious food with good people and good music :)

Music, Movies, and Books
All kinds of music from jazz to hip hop to opera. Specifically conscious rap. My favourite book so far has to be Kensuke's Kingdom or the Alchemist that I'm currently reading. Movies, all kinds, my best movies include Lion, White chicks, Bridesmaids, Honey and Think Like a Man.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Got stuck in a hostel in India during the lockdown in 2020 and stayed for 9months. Too many great stories to put here so look forward to meeting you in person and sharing together. See this video for a little insight into life from Rishikesh during the pandemic :)

Teach, Learn, Share
I love the quote: "The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion"❤🌍
Travel conscious and leave people and places in a better place than when you found them.
Kindness creates authentic connection and community. Through us all giving what we can, we find true happiness. Nothing is more powerful than seeing another humans eyes light up and heart open when you give.
I used to have epilepsy amd surgery in 2007. A firm believer that everything is working for you, not against you.
Travel is about doing something meaningful in the places you visit, whether that be a conversation, a helping hand or more. The more I travel the more it becomes apparent that something can be done, in world we live in today.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A free and open spirit, open for any conversation about life, love, spirituality, pepperoni pizza, capitalism you name it. An open mind with a global view on development issues and humanity. I love intellectual discussions that go beneath the surface. Also love a great party, music and good vibes where souls connect.
