Overview
About Me
Born in Victoria and lived in Kelowna and Vancouver but have a long standing love affair with Calgary (if we meet I can convince you to love it too) and have also lived in Winnipeg, the sunshine coast, and lake Louise. Currently in India with arrival in YVR on April 4th.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I will be working on Sonora island over the summer and late spring and into October and will be required to be off the island on my days off. Looking to arrange something with a Campbell river local so that it's not only easy for me to get to the ferry to get to work but also so I don't have to spend $100/week and try to coordinate with a bus to Victoria! Willing to pay a daily rate and would prefer to have an actual room not a public space 💖
Interests
I'm currently getting my yoga teacher training outside Bangalore and have been a practitioner for close to 10 years. I have been a follower of a more traditional path as my family is very committed to authenticity and honoring origins, this means that I've always had exposure to mantra, meditation, and pranayama. If someone knows how to meditate then they definitely know how to chill!! When I say I am interested in food don't take that as I like to eat, I worked as a cook in the Storm Crow Tavern (look it up) for almost a year and I also worked as a bartender in a freelance capacity during that time and last year full time in lake Louise. I LOVE entertainment and parties and events and that ties into the dance thing as well. Nightlife is one of my favourite scenes and it can be so rewarding. I love a good party. The only thing I left out is singing but if you take me to a karaoke night you'll be left in tears. I have still so much to learn and yet still so much to share!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked in the snow in the Himalayas to a temple all by myself in my vans (sounds dramatic but the snow was not too deep), survived a sleeper bus accident between gokarna and Bangalore, getting a yoga teacher training with a very popular guru in karnataka, pursued independence like it is the only path to liberation (ask me more), been to witchcamp, travelled Australia alone for 4 months and only spent 3 weeks working to save for a 6 week India trip and a flight home (let's talk 15 hour work days), sang for the former Governor general of Canada on her birthday.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to learn more about how to create safe spaces for sober people to party and have fun, also how to make festival culture more sustainable (sounds like I need to go to burning man, I know) and also would like to learn how to create societal initiatives towards rubbish reduction and proper use of disposal receptacles, trash on the streets is so unnecessary to me! I'm sure you all have a lot to teach me about things I don't even know exist yet!!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I will readily offer to cook you something if my funds are right, in fact if we get an arrangement going that works well for both of us then I would highly suggest an entertainment night for while I'm home, you invite some friends and I can set out good food!
