Born and bred in Singapore, I've recently started considering solo trips. Being a solo female traveler can be a little daunting, especially when travelling to more exotic locales, so I thought it would be really good to be able to live and speak with a local. I believe nothing beats experiencing every new place that I go to like a local, instead of just visiting touristy spots!

Just thought I would get this out there cause there has been some stories: Not interested in hookups, I hope to be able to meet a friendly and genuine couchsurfing host!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm new to couchsurfing but definitely interested to explore this refreshing way of meeting people!

I do live with my parents in Singapore and they, being traditional chinese parents, are not open to sharing our homes with strangers. However, I will be more than happy to meet travellers coming into Singapore and can bring you around the country after work or on weekends if I'm available. I work in the central business district where its always bustling and theres a lot to see, and have been to most of the touristy attractions in Singapore so I can be a good tour guide and also would love to share more about the culture here.

I am not much of a party/clubbing person so I would not be able to bring people there if thats your sort of thing, though I can probably list a couple of places to hang out at :)

If I am unavailable to meet I would love to just chat with you on Facebook/Whatsapp/Email and recommend places to go and visit from a local's perspective, how to get around etc. Singapore is a fantastic, safe place to visit and I would be happy to help you get the most out of your trip here.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to mainly english music with a little chinese - I prefer chinese when I go karaoke but the tunes I save in spotify are mostly fresh hits!

Movies wise, I like comedies, romance or thrillers. Hate horror and would never willingly subject myself to that, but I am a bigggg drama series fan and watch everything from Suits, White Collar, Once Upon a Time, Beauty and the Beast, Orphan Black, Modern Family, Big Bang Theory.... I could list a lot more ;)

I somehow grew out of books since my schooling days but thats not to say I don't appreciate the value of it. I do read sometimes but tend to get my knowledge and info doses from TED talks and youtube more than books nowadays. I tend towards non-fiction now more than in the past.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've always lived in my comfort zone and I haven't tried anything super exciting, but I am looking to add to this section soon!

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn how to cook the local food of places I visit! I am a complete newbie in the kitchen and have so far only worked with instant noodles, the oven and the microwave. If you can tolerate working with someone who might be a little slow to catch on in the kitchen and have no knife skills to speak off; I am your humble disciple.

I honestly do not have any specific talent to speak of but I will be happy to share whatever I know that comes up in our conversation.
