About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to keep on growing

ABOUT ME

I'm a curious soul who likes to take each day as it comes, but with flexible life goals - like starting a health retreat, making a documentary, and learning guitar. I love expanding my comfort zone, experiencing new things, meeting new people, connecting, and sharing. I enjoy deep conversations as well as meaningless ones, and small things make me happy.

Couch Surfing has been amazing because for me it's about connection and sharing, and I love the idea of experiencing culture rather than just looking at it. I imagine like most people on here - I'm easy to get along with, open minded and honest, and I respect others' way of living.

Oh and I like tea... and LOVE food!

PHILOSOPHY

BE in the moment... life is a bunch of memories, so make them the best they can be. For all the experiences that I miss, I'm experiencing the one that I should. And I believe in giving within our capacity - whether it's our time, patience, forgiveness, material matter, love, smile... whatever it is we can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

March 2020 - Now
Took a trip to the States to visit Jed's family and got stuck there for four months - our time there was much appreciated - we were with good people and close to nature. When we managed to return to London, we decided we wanted to continue time with family, so we flew to Cyprus where my sister and other family members lives.

Sept 2016 - Feb 2020
I've moved back to London with Jed. I'm here to follow a new career path that speaks closer to my heart - nursing. London prices are extortionate and so we are living in my Dad's house with other tenants. Unfortunately, this means we are not allowed to host couchsurfers.

Instead, we are interacting with the CS community through a board game that Jed and I are creating - called Get Real. As often as we can, we are hosting events to play and so far we have had such amazing connections with attendees. Here is a link to a past event - https://www.couchsurfing.com/events/not-your-average-hangout

When we travel, we do try to connect with couchsurfers and love it as much as always.

Feb 2016
Traveling in South America with my partner and his family.

Jan 2015
Living in an ashram in Australia - studying yoga and working within the community. This place has it's own essence of couchsurfing in it's own beautiful way.

Nov 2014
Currently in between Cyprus and London until next year, spending quality time with friends and family, and saving funds before I move again in Feb.

Mar 2014
Hmmm... Well since my big travels ended in 2013 I haven't been very active on couchsurfing, which makes me a little sad - I got all busy with "figuring out what to do with my life", and soon remembered that's just not me... so I spent time freelancing, saving, visiting friends and family in London, Cyprus and New York, and then made a move to Bali in October to work and study. Maybe I should find out what the couchsurfing community are up to here! =)

Sept 2012
It's about time I updated this... I hosted many surfers on my futon/sofa bed in Brooklyn, NY. I've been traveling around for the last 9-months road-tripping, and couch surfing, and meeting new people.

April 2010
I just joined so I don't really know yet... but I have a futon/sofa bed for fellow couch surfers to sleep on. And I plan on traveling myself with the intention of couch surfing and meeting new people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted from the first week I joined - and it was as awesome as I imagined!

...I've LOVED it ever since!

Interests

in no particular order...

I love life - I'm in awe with existence and possibility.
I love being a student and a teacher.
I practice meditation, even if it's while I cycle or taking a few breaths before a meal.
I practice yoga - particularly from a philosophical perspective.
I'm passionate about wellbeing and how one can improve their health holistically (mind and body).
I love eating food. I love cooking food. I love sharing food.
I enjoy using my hands to create - whether that's art, food, fixing something, or building something...
Exploration is my nature - whether it's through travel, doing something new, expanding my comfort zone or meeting new people.
The ocean feels like home.
I enjoy giving, in various ways to whoever wants to receive.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - Hmmm... far to many... mostly dramas, psychological, true stories, documentaries, art house, foreign...

Music - Almost everything... just not really heavy metal, techno stuff.

Books - I don't read enough... but mostly non-fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One - that's tough!

I'd probably have to say...
...continuously meeting incredible people around the world
...following my heart to Sri Lanka to spend three weeks with a practical stranger (he is now my life-partner)
...completing a 12-day vipassana course in Myanmar (Burma)
...spending many months at the Mangrove Yoga Ashram in Australia
...seeing HUNDREDS of dolphins swimming around me in a tiny boat in Mexico
...the helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon, USA
...scuba diving with whale sharks in Utila, Honduras
...snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, Australia
...sky diving over Lake Wanaka in NZ and Moab in Utah.
...and everything else that equals life!

Teach, Learn, Share

Other than that, I know a lot about health, meditation, yoga, coaching, branding, design, and other techy things like that.

And generally... if you have any questions - even if it's random - just ask.
