About Me
Hello! I am an artist and photographer currently living in Co. Wicklow, Ireland (The Garden of Ireland!) and just recently graduated from the National College of Art and Design. At the moment I work part-time as a workshop facilitator for youth groups as well as working on my own art/photography projects. After finishing college I moved back home to save some money so at the moment I live with my mum and our 4 dogs. I loved living in the city but I'm also really happy to be back closer to the countryside and right next to the beach. I'd say I'm a very optimistic person and try to have a pretty laid back attitude about life in general but am also very concerned with human rights issues and feel it's really important to use your voice to speak up about these issues. People are great and meeting as many as possible from as many different places is high on my to do list.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
So at the end of December myself and my boyfriend Dara, also an artist and recent graduate of NCAD, are moving to LA for a year. We have graduate visas which means we can get internships related to our field of studies. Long term we're planning on renting a place in the Downtown area but for the first few weeks of our adventure we're hoping that Couchsurfing will see us through. We both have friends who have been couchsurfing for the past few years and it seems like an amazing way to travel and also meet some really interesting people along the way. We both love meeting new people and won't know many over there so this seems to be the perfect way to start our adventure!
Interests
Obviously I love art and photography, that's what I do! So going to different galleries and exhibitions is something I'm always doing and love. I also love exercising whether it's going for a walk/hike, doing some yoga at home or going to a class in the gym-being healthy is something that's really important to me. Dara and myself are both vegetarian so trying new recipes is something we do pretty often, admittedly he is the main chef though-his veggies burritos are amazing! We go to music festivals in the summer and to techno/house gigs every month/couple of months...dancing is very important.

Music, Movies, and Books
Mainly hip hop/old skool house/techno but I also really like jazz and afro caribbean beatzzz anything that's funky works for me. At the moment I'm listening to Kendrick, Anderson Paak, Rejjie Snow, Omar S, Abra, Solange....
Fav films include The Talented Mr Ripley, Fishtank, The Jungle Book..saw Whiplash recently and that was amazing, best film I've seen in a while.
Books..anything gritty and grimey is usually good so I love detective novels..also love Brett Easton Ellis, Irvine Welsh. I'll read anything if the first page gets me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Haha this question makes me feel v inadequate tbh but the first thing that comes to mind is that a few months ago I did a few photography workshops with a group of young people and later found out that one of the girls had decided to persue photography because of it and got into college to study it there..that was very cool.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can take some great portraits of you (and your family, friends, animals) and Dara can paint you something amazing!
If you want to learn a bit about photography/painting we can help you out with that too.
We're both pretty good cooks and like living in a tidy environment so we're more tha happy to help with all that stuff too!
Also we're both dog obsessed so hopefully you have a dog that we can walk for you that would be great... or cat, rabbit, lizard any animals really :)
