About Me

PRELIMINARY REMARK : Please send me a request when you need accommodation for one night only, very exceptionally 2 !

ABOUT ME

Hi!

I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Social Sciences, enjoying life in Nantes, the most beautiful and lively city of France as everyone knows. I consider myself as an open-minded person (like 90% of people here right ?), always up for a good chat and a good meal with new people. What I like in traveling is discovering all the cultural aspects of the place I'm in, and I think it's necessary to hang out with locals to achieve this goal. My greatest flaw? I sleep a lot, but you'll soon see how energetic I am aside from that!

PHILOSOPHY

"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever” could be my motto

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

- 2012: I discovered Couchsurfing thanks to a friend of mine who wanted to organize a trip to Lyon. I had my first experience then while I wasn't registered on the website yet.

- 2013: two weeks of traveling with Couchsurfing, both in France and foreign countries (Belgium, Netherlands)

- 2015: Couchsurfing stay in Seville + meet-up in Cordoba

- 2016: went to some Couchsurfing events + used the hang-out application for the first time in Bucharest

- 2018: I became a host!

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

Music : Bob Dylan, Beirut, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Django Django, Lescop, No Blues, Christine and the Queens...

Movies : Arizona Dream, No Country for Old Men, Persepolis, Comme un Avion, The Lobster, Paterson...

Books : french writers like Romain Gary, Boris Vian, Jean Cocteau but also writers like Jeffrey Eugenides (The Marriage Plot is my fav)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Walking on the top of Pyla's Dune, with no tourists around, in the darkness of Christmas' Eve
- Biking around Bristol's beautiful harbourside, with its golden river at sunset time
- Eating wonderful greek food after swimming in the warm sea of Balos, Crete
- Waving at the Hamish cows of Scotland, in the middle of a James Bond's landscape
- Listening to an organ concert in the Meszquita - Catedral of Cordoba
- Chasing pelicans at the Danube Delta with a fisherman's motorboat

But actually I like to enjoy simple things even while travelling. Nothing makes me happier than having a good meal and a nice walk in a warm city by night.

What I Can Share with Hosts

When I'm a traveler, I can cook world food from Algeria, Senegal, India, ... And also some french food, even though I'm less gifted in this field (weirdly enough). I usually bring some sweets from France to my hosts, because even though I don't know how to cook them, they're truly delicious !

I'm an enthusiastic person always eager to play board games and have a good chat, sharing some views about society
