My name is Sophie and I come from Germany and Indonesia, where my parents met each other.
I study Anthropology, translate Indonesian poetry into German and work at literature and poetry festivals quite often.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At the moment my ability to host is very limited, but that will change after I have done my Master's degree in Leiden (Feb. 2015- Jan. 2016)!!

Music, Movies, and Books
"Anna Karenina" (Tolstoi), "The unbearable lightness of being" (Kundera), "Catcher in the Rye" (Salinger), "Great Gatsby" (Fitzgerald), "The Good Earth" (Buck), "Lord Jim", "The Taifun", "Heart of Darkness" (all: Conrad), and many more..
recent favorite movies "La Grande Belezza", "Clockwork Orange", "Shrek 1,2&3", "The Fantastic Mr. Fox", "Grand Hotel Budapest", etc. etc. etc.
Naming bands and songs seems a little exhausting (generally it goes into the direction of Indie, Rap and Hip Hop).
What I Can Share with Hosts
bad jokes and good cooking skills. Tipps for traveling in Germany and Indonesia.. And most of all: A warm heart and hopefully a tea or beer or wine!
