About Me

Hi,
My name is Sophie, I'm 36 years old.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First of all, because free/cheap accommodation is very helpful when you travel a lot and don't have a big wallet. ;)
Also, I love hosting visitors, I'm planning to own a b&b in some ten years. ;)

Everyone who's stayed with me so far says I'll do an awesome job with a b&b, hehe...

I'm excited about this because I'm as interested in staying at individual places as getting people to visit me.
I love showing people where I live, I know both the official tourist attractions and some hidden treasures...

Interests

I love to travel and I love where I live.
My biggest interests are music, languages, art and history.
I enjoy meeting new people and am easy to talk to.
Ask me anything and I'll try to find you an answer. ;)

I've got maaaaany other interests, but those are the main.

  • arts
  • cooking
  • breakfast
  • traveling
  • music
  • surfing
  • history
  • languages
  • historic sites

Music, Movies, and Books

Folk, classical, metal, alternative rock, pop/rock
My taste in music is pretty comprehensive ;)

Currently reading:
Tårer fra en tapt tid

Recently read and liked:
Me before you by J. Moyes
The Host by S. Meyer
Inkheart by C. Funke

All time favourites:
The Lord of the Rings
Many books by R. Dahl and A. Lindgren
May 35th by E. Kästner

I love well researched historical novels, especially about Viking age. I also do a lot of Viking age re-enactment.

I must admit I'm not too much into movies, they often bore me... But I like Amélie Poulain, Adams Æbler, Elling, Kunsten å tenke negativt...
I like deep movies or dry, black humour. :D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

convinced a guy from New Zealand to kill a cellar spider for me

Made a full English breakfast for a French and a Kiwi in Norway at half past six in the morning... Lol

Lead three of my guests to the end of the world

Hosted at least one person from each continent. Now I collect countries... ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach anything I know.

I love to learn languages and to visit historical sites, but basically I can't come up with much that wouldn't interest me (besides maths and things having to do with maths... Hehe)

I like to share experiences, music (love to jam), I'd like to share Oslo with you :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Music jams
Funny stories
Good tips for further travel
I am a good cook
I'm easy to talk to and need little
