À propos de moi

Hello I'm Sophie!

I'm 23 years old and study medicine in Münster, a nice university town in the north west of Germany.

I share an appartment with two other students and we are very happy about living together. We have git a big kitchen and even a small part in the garden which is perfect for barbecue or hanging around in the summer.

In my free time I do sports (athletics is a more stable thing whereas I try new courses that are offered by our university), study too much and like to go out dancing.
I also like dressing up, for instance if there is any special occasion like a 20s party that allows to step back in time for one evening and become someone else.

When I have got a few days off I like to discover other places (especially if there are cheap ryan air flight tickets it is hard to say no) but even at home there is much I haven't seen or tried yet so it is not necessary to travel far away to gain new experience. And after all, it is still a good thing to return and sleep in your own bed after an exciting trip I think.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I started travelling during my first university holidays and I am very happy about that. So far I always stayed in hostels and enjoyed getting to know other travelors so easily but I missed the real link to the city I was staying. Of course it is nice to meet people from all over the world but the reason you travelled somewhere is that you wanted to discover this one place and the people living here, knowing it well and being able to tell you what is important if you relly want to get an impression that leaves behind all that touristical stuff...

Despite invitations I haven't been visited by others that don't know Münster yet and I would like to show others the town I live in and what I like about living here as long as it fits with my tight schedule at university...

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Most of the time I listen to the radio, which means that I'm listening to mainstream music: pop, hip hop, rap, soul/rnb, a little bit of rock but also German or French music.

When I go out I like to dance to music which makes you feel good and want to dance enthusiastically or to jump and swing your hips :D

Unfortunately reading books is no fixed part of my life any more although I loved to read when I was younger. But I still listen to audiobooks being able to use my hands at the same time. Most of the time I choose thrillers like those by Dan Brown for instance.

When I watch a movie I like to watch good comedies. Nothing too stupid (like some american ones but not all of them of course ;)). I also like the french cinema and the crime genre (from time to time with a little bit of action), but I am not a big fan of horror movies.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I'm happy that they write "one" amazing thing. Because if it was "the most amazing thing" I could think about it for ages...

As talking about traveling I'll tell you this: On the first trip I did on my own (Stockholm) I got along very well with an American who was travelling to different parts of Europe.
And we found out that we would be staying in Paris at the same time so we decided to meet again. Indeed, we met in front of the Louvre - together with my family - and managed to meet even another time in Hamburg before he flew back to the USA.

For me, this was amazing because it was so unbelievable that we could meet again so easily and it showed that you can make friends while travelling. Meening friendship that lasts longer than the two days you share... And that there are deeper encounters if you are lucky.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I'll look for inspiration... ;)

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

Interesting conversations I would say.
I am interested in what my host wants to tell/show/make me try and which enthusiasm he/she would like to share.
What I want to express is that I am open for the situation I am thankful to become part of and that I am willing to adapt as well as to form it together with the people I meet.
For me it is important to make sure in which way the host would like me to participate (also in cooking or whatever). I'm fine with doing things together as well as seperate, passing time on our own as long as everybody knows what is expected.

And one more concrete thing: I really like post cards. So if it is the same for my host, it would be pleasure to send one from Münster or another destination to my former host.
