Overview
About Me
Hi There :)
I am Sophie from Hamburg, Germany. If I am not working until late in the evening, I surround myself with great people and a variety of characters for a drink, fun cooking sessions or sporty activities (always looking for cool workout buddies). I am an ice hockey player in the winter and in the summer I try to get as much as I can on my stand-up paddle board to get the perfect view on Hamburg of the water.
I’m very easy going and open-minded. My friends say about me: She is a person you can go and steal horses with and a good listener :)
I don’t want to write too much about me. I think it’s cooler when I can tell you myself :)
P.S. in case you wonder why I can speak so many languages —> I grew up trilingual.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A friend of mine convinced me to Couchsurf for the first time on our Malta Sports Trip last year and I loved it to experience the hospitality of strangers who became friends of mine and came to see me at my place as well. You can never have too many friends, right? :)
Interests
Sports, Aviation, Horseback riding, music, fun people, dancing, outdoors and stunning landscapes. There is definitely more that I’m interested in! ;)
- aviation
- outdoor activities
- sports
- hockey
Music, Movies, and Books
I have several Spotify playlists for every mood and situation (e.g. for Stand-Up Paddling on the lake or spontaneous sit-ins :)
My favorite movie: Hidden Figures. Definitely a must watch!
Books about human psychology and behavior interest me a lot. Why do we act the way we act around others?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’ll give you my top 3:
1.) Living in the US as an exchange student at the age of 15 was the greatest life-enhancing experience. It shaped my personality, I became a confident woman, I found a second family and friends for life. Plus numerous adventures;)
2.) Visting Dubai Airshow was crazy lit! Goose bumps included, when that afterburner sound makes the ground you stand on vibrate.
3.) White water rafting in France and Upstate New York: I love action and outdoors :)
Teach, Learn, Share
You teach me about the best places in your hometown and I’ll be forever thankful and more than happy to open my doors to you.
I can teach you to play a song on the piano with two hands! How does that sound?
