Hi, I'm Sophie, I come from China and is now studying master degree in TU Darmstadt. I have been to Turkey for a global volunteer program, and not until then did I realize the amaze to communicate deep with people from another culture, and work together. I made lots of friends then, not just common friends, but the friends that I miss day and night after returning to China. I have also traveled to other places, but no one is any similar to the experience I have in Turkey. I can't do this volunteering program again, but I hope that my next travel can be as wonderful as that one.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

To be honest, the first reason I discover Couchsurfing is because the hostel or even a bed's price is waaaaay tooo high in Heidelberg, the first place I want to visit in Germany. And I have friends in China who had great experience in Couchsurfing, and some had become a host. When I saw their description about getting to know a guest and talk about a lot of things, I was quite jealous. But didn't have the urge to find a couch serving website because I've got used to use airbnb, and I also did have good experience there. But this time, I'm gonna try it. After some searching about some people's comments about couch service, I'm quite thrilled! Because in usual travel I'll have more connection to the places of interests rather than to people. So it's not an easy thing to find someone in that country or from another cultural background to talk to you about everything. But couchsurfing can do this, I think. Hopefully I could get my first host and have good time :p
