About Me

Hey There!
I am Sophie, born in 2000 in Wiesbaden, Germany.

I did a gap year in 2018/2019 and have had many great experiences in Vietnam and Australia thanks to couch surfing!
Now I study medicine in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Free-time activities:

In my free time, I love to do lots of sports. For instance, I like to go to the gym(weight lifting), ride my bike, swim, dance or do workouts at home.
Moreover, I love to cook for me and my family and I like to create dishes spontaneously.

What I also like to do, is playing the guitar or the piano or sing and, of course, listening to music.
Furthermore, I love to do outdoor activities on weekends with my family and friends. Examples for this may be going for a walk, hiking, swimming, paddling, doing a bicycle tour and visiting all kind of museums.
However, I also love to simply read books, draw or spent time with my friends.

Life philosophy and what is important to me:

To me, my family and friends are one of the most important things in life. I think it is important to be loyal and there for each other. Surrounding oneself with nice people and getting to now them is essential to me because it makes me happy. I think that it`s interesting that studies have shown that, generally speaking, people who have a good social network, were the ones who lived the longest and where the healthiest.
Selfdevelopment, improvement of my skills and abilities to be as productive as I can has always been a big thing to me. I just want to do the best I can and explore this beautiful world.
But , of course, relaxing is important to me, too. I mean you can´t be productive without chilling out regularly, right?
I found that balance is key and that extremes mainly tend to end bad.

Education:

I study medicine in Bratislava:)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To be honest, I believe that the little things that one does regularly are more important than one amazing.

However, I think it is amazing that I took the time to live with my grandparents for 2 and a half months in Slavakia. I wanted to help them, spent time with my family members who mainly live there and improve my language skills.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you how to cook delicious food! Ilike to cook very healthy, yet simple food spontaneously.
Moreover, I can teach you some slovakian or german language skills and tell you about these cultures and their traditions and ways of life.
Or maybe I could show you some chords on my guitar when I have it with me :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Traveling the world, I have seen how interesting different cultures, traditions, people and languages can be. I am totally fascinated by how someone can broaden one`s mind this way.
Most importantly, having taken part in three student exchanges (France, Paris; Lithuania, Vilnius and America, Chicago/Hortonville), I was able to experience these cultures by living with a family and becoming part of it for a short time. I really enjoyed getting to now a new country this way which is why I would love to spent time with you!
I am a pretty flexible person and we could talk about many interesting things and share our skills and experiences!
