About Me

Hello :-)

My name is Sophie, I am 24 years old and come from Vienna, Austria! I hold a Bachelor degree in Comparative Literature from the Free University in Berlin and currently study in Vienna. I live together with my boyfriend, we have a spacious guest room, which we are happy to share ever I have time and opportunity to host someone! :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I consider it is a great idea to get to know other cities, countries, people and life styles! Travelling can be very expensive for young people - therefore Couchsurfing is a perfect opportunity to arrange trips affordably while at the same time gathering insider information about the place visited which cannot be found in travel guides! After some fantastic CS-experiences, I do not exaggerate if I ascribe some of the most interesting and life-shaping experiences to CS-contacts!

Interests

My interests include reading (otherwise I would not study Literature^^), cultural activitities (museums, theatre, ...), sewing, gardening and travelling! Moreover, I was a member of the Scouts movement for more then 12 years. I am an open minded person and curious to get to know new ways of life!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Element of Crime, KENT, R.E.M., Princess Chelsea, Kate Nash, Apples in Space, Billy Joel, David Bowie, Raimond&Maria, BOY, Einstürzende Neubauten, Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, Schubert, Brahms, Händel
Movies: currently I love Tim Burton's "Big fish"
Books: puh, quite a difficult question for a student of literature! I think, this question should rather be discussed with a cup of tea and lots of time ;-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My trip to Sweden in summer 2015 which was originally planned to be quite monotonous (working on a farm for two months) and turned into an adventure I could never have hoped for: travelling, couchsurfing, picking strawberries at a plantage, working at two different youth camps, exploring more than 15 cities, meeting loads of interesting people, having conversations about diverse topics, ...

Teach, Learn, Share

I will be happy to share my guest room with you, conversation, a cup of tea, book suggestions, a walk through Vienna, a city map, recommendations of my favourite sights or cafés,... If you are learning German, I can practise with you, and I am always curious to learn new expressions of your language too!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Croatia, Czech Republic, England, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey
