ABOUT ME

My name is Sophie and I am 29 years old. I am an English and French teacher. I've always been interested in learning foreign languages and discovering different cultures. When I was 16, I went to live abroad in Colorado in the United States. I lived there for ten months and it truely was the best time of my life.
After finishing school, I left Germany for half a year to work as an Au Pair in Madrid, Spain. I had a great time and completely fell in love with the spanish way of life.
After returning to Germany, I started university (English, French, Sports) in Heidelberg. During my studies I went to live in Montpellier for six months.
Living abroad and meeting people from different countries has changed my life. This is why I want to be a part of the Couchsurfing Community.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I was living in Montpellier, I participated in several events of the local couchsurfing group.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only hosted once before leaving for France. It was a positive experience and we are still in touch with each other.
I couchsurfed four times already: the first time was on my arrival in Montpellier. We got along so well that we've become friends :-).
The second and third time was in Madrid, Spain where I had a very great time as well. The last time was in London mit Jamie in White Chapel, also very nice.

Interests

I am an active person with lots of interests. I love to be outside and do sports or go for a walk. I run, swim and bike on a regular base and whenever I get the chance I go snowboarding, climbing or slacklining. Although I am a sports addict, I also like to relax, hang out with my friends, having some good food, a glass of wine, going to concerts, the fleamarket...To this day I have travelled and lived in quite a few places, however I would like to see much more and I think that Couchsurfing is a great way to do so.

I love literature: I like Twain, Auster, Poe, Wilde, La Fontaine, Molière, Voltaire, Martin Suter, Carlos Ruíz Zafon and many more
