About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Serendipity ! 缘分!la spirale de la win !

ABOUT ME

BEFORE
I lived in Lyon (France's city of gastronomy !) from 2002 to 2011, and can tell that's a pretty nice city, where I still have some of my good friends, and some material pieces of my life in a storage box.
I moved to beijing in january 2012, for an undetermined time.
When I graduated Art School, I started doing many different jobs including :-working as amélie poulain in a café of montmartre-teaching art to pupils who really don't give a s***-doing political phone survey and many more , but I also kept on doing my artistic activities as music, drawing, performing, and recently started learning to play the ukulele (which tends to be a really good journey pal)... In 2008 I deciced to study chinese medicine and began with Tuina, the chinese technique of massage.Traditionnal chinese medecine is just similar to the virgin forest. The more you go into it, the bigger it gets. Strangely, since i'm in china, I stop the studies :(, but not the interest for sure. I also worked for the contemporary art biennale in Lyon in 2011. For the first time in my not so short life I was able to say, I love my job. I wish everyone could feel the same.I just love travelling. I'm curious, people say that i'm a funny person, and I do agree. I tend to behave a bit like a "zellig" traveller (it's gonna ring a bell for those who saw that film by woody allen), and try to live the way people live in the place i'm in, while bringing my silly touch. Most of time, I go abroad to visit friends. I found CouchSurfing a nice way to maybe make new ones.-
NOW
About fabulous China. I fell for china and for a chinese. We got married in november 2012 in Hainan. About travelling, well, I always thought that it is when you're away that it becomes possible for you to learn to cherish your little neighborhood. But these days I felt exasperated by my fellows, sometimes i think french people are like a child crying with the mouth full of food. Today i realized something. I love my country very much that's why i need to leave it so often.

PHILOSOPHY

The destination doesn't matter. Only the journey or trip can change you.
Always keep in mind the Einstein's quote that if the bees disappear from the surface of the globe then mankind would only have four years of life left. What? Einstein never said that? Who cares. At least people talk about it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't want to apply for one Best-guest/host-ever-contest, but only try to be part of an alternative way of travelling, and way of thinking about how making it so different.
I used to think that I would like to edit one kind of "alternative lonely planet", with drawings, personal experiences and absolutely personal vision of the places visited and people met there.
I'm also found of world cuisine, and I love to cook and trying to create new dishes. CouchSurfing is the best way to learn how to cook new recipes, and bring a taste of what i can modestly do with a knife and a pan. Or a fork !

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My couch has seen many friendly backs until now.I love hosting, but have lived the most fantastic meetings being a couchsurfing guest.
I found in CS a community, for real and for good.

Interests

ART ! that is to say : a lot of music, underground comics, performing, live art, sound dada poetry, but also drinking good wine with laughter, going to the cinema (very different from watching a video at home), seing friends and having fun or nice talks.

I'm also a capoerista for 5 years now and have found a really amazing capoeira group in beijing called Mandinga. I usually train 2 or 3 times a week, you will be welcome to join as the training gym is really close to home.

Oh, and one more thing : i'm absolutely facinated by "the teens and adolescence", if we can classify it as a genre !

Name-dropping : My heroes are Edmond Dantes, Carl Dreyer, Alison Knowles, Tune-yards, Stephen Jones, Holden Caulfield, Jacques Higelin, musically devoted to bjork, The knife and The holly spirit of Michael... I just can say I'm mostly keen on the alternative kind.Anyway a rose is a rose is a rose.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I actually sang (or screamed) "killing in the name of" by rage against the machine in a chinese karaoke. Talking about unusual situation it's a pretty original mixture.
