About Me
I am a book-lover, a student and a bit of a nerd
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In general: for me, travel is about the people. I've been to resorts with my family, and sure, hotels are nice, but you can get home and not have met a single person from the area, which I find really sad. Plus, it's cheaper, which is definitely a perk!
This summer: My friend Lara, an Icelandic girl I met in Peru, is coming to visit this summer. I want to show her what Canada has to offer and make new friends at the same time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was an exchange student in Peru in 2013-2014. I lived in Tumbes, in the north of Peru, with three different host families. A few of the things that happened:
- I was crowned Miss Tumbes and ended up being interviwed on local access TV wearing a sash and tiara
- I was asked out on a date by a priest
- I discovered that the Peruvian cure for tummy trouble is chicken foot soup
- I watched an ocean sunset out of the back of a pickup truck
- I successfully told a joke in Spanish - considering how bad my Spanish was initially, that felt like a pretty big achievement at the time :)
Countries I’ve Visited
Dominican Republic, England, Germany, Guadeloupe, Mexico, Nicaragua, Switzerland, United States
