Über mich

CURRENT MISSION

To have a friend from every country/continent in the world. Graduate. Write another line to my ever-constipated self biography. Eat as much food as possible without gaining any weight.

ABOUT ME

I'm always up for a laugh and pretty much the easiest person to live with cos I'm (I think) rather laid back as well as not being a dirty tramp! I've got a good sense of humour and it comes in handy when you're trying to get a ham baguette in Montmartre and the guy serving you speaks ONLY Korean. I'm generally rather chatty and perky (except mornings - I tend to be a bit placid the first couple of hours I'm up). I'm also a qualified Level 1 and 2 cheerleading coach (Not that it matters much in CS heheh). Currently studying Art History (a big passion of mine) but that aside, I would really like to be a writer and wish I was one of those artsy-fartsy-trendy-wendy-bendy sort of fairies. I can be a bit random at times and I love my sleep. I am also a bit of a foodie and winey. Also have a huge interest in photography (note: interest, not skill). I live in East London and bearing in mind one tends to be biased about where they live, I truly believe it is one of the best neighbourhoods London has to offer: There is always something happening, so much diverse personalities and places of curiosities around. I make it a point to share as much of that as possible.

PHILOSOPHY

Soya sauce, cheese and black pepper are the most important commodities in every household.

When life/karma is being a bitch, it'll all seem better when you're wearing a great dress.

Shit happens.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host or meet up whenever I can, with all my efforts and in return I ask only that my surfers be good and return the favour to other travellers in future!

I tend to reply to all if not most of the messages I receive on CS apart from the sketchy looking ones.

I also helped moderate the Liverpool Collective.
Organised the Collective's first meeting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Attended a CS meeting in Spain. Met a lot of cool people and it kickstarted my CS sideline. We all attended the 2006 La Tomatina festival. First hosting experience: 3 South of Francers (Marie-Charlotte, Thibault & Jeff) in October 2007 - I made them vodka pasta, they didn't die and they liked it heheh! Then they made me crepes and I went to heaven.Hosted Mathieu from Quebec. Bit of a language barrier but it all worked out in the end LOL.Hosted from Magda and Marta from Poland. If you ever want to see really crap pictures of me taken candidly n 1st thing in the morn, Get it touch with them (please don't).Hosted Derek from Canada - I got him wasted and he staggered arnd my kitchen heheheh!Organised and attended Liverpool's first CS meeting. It was pretty successful (I think)!Attended a CS meeting in Utrecht, Netherlands. Surfed with Jasper Haenen there.Surfed with Totony in Paris for a couple of nights and enjoyed happy picnics there.Attended the Dutch day 2010 with some of the London CSers in Trafalgar Square.Surfed with Cedric in Brussels (2010) and enjoyed sharing surfer status with Dora, Mona, Bea, Stephi and Alexi. Had a great insider's tour around Bruges by David and he was generous and kind to make me a lovely late lunch at his apartment whilst we browsed some of the amazing photos he's taken then dropping me off at the train station. Went for a CS Picnic in Hyde Park during a rather miscalculated summer's day (2011)Gave Jean-Louis, Pierre and their host Rain a tour around my favourite spots in East London and Soho (2011).

Interessen

I adore traveling, journal-writing, reading and cheerleading. I like dancing but I really do enjoy a good chill out and I have a torrent love affair with food, cheese and wine, jokes and sharing stories/life anecdotes. Old-book, postcard, city snowglobe and pretty dresses collector. I like watching live gigs and I have an interest in tarot cards and gemology.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

In cheerleading, trust is important and flyers must ALWAYS tense the muscles and keep the knees locked. When I was in France and living with 15 people under one roof of a Parisian bookstore, I learnt that I don't smell that bad even after nearly a week of not showering and half the world's eccentrics were living with me. Heehee.Vodka in pasta does not mean you're an alcoholic. It simply says you're an adventurous chef.
