Sobre mí

ABOUT ME

Hello hello!

I suppose that the appropriate history is that after graduating with a language degree, I kept following that path, which has led me not only to many wonderful places, but also to meet some fantastic people. Couchsurfing complements this curiosity well, I think.

Travel and exploring aside, I like stories and learning, plus good food but not sure if I would call myself a foodie. I like good drinks, but I mean a café is also as good as a bar. I like to sketch new places and look at things sideways, and am a bit of a compulsive writer and snapper (of pictures, I'm not a fish. Actually I would rather be up mountains than in the water- and I love to be up there.)

PHILOSOPHY

Trust and patience is both for yourself and others. The imagination is gold.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hopefully hosting in the long run, at the moment I love showing people around the city I call home at present.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed in Dalian, China, with an old partner, which was a fabulous experience. We cooked an Italian-style meal for our host and his son, and I'll never forget the endless barbecue on the balcony. On a whim went to Sapporo to surf, just as unforgettable. Also met with hosts in their cities to explore together.

Intereses

Urban sketching in a group- one way to get curious onlookers and bemused café staff, but makes a solitary activity social! Anything to do with history (ancient even better). I used to want to be an archaeologist as a child but somehow languages took over, in that way life goes sometimes.

Training has been a large part of my life for a while now, but at present it is mostly just archery, pleasant cycling and the occasional jog around the lake. Hitting the gold and cycling home at night singing are some of life's top little moments.

I haven't written about music up there because artist lists are too static for most daily use. Suffice to say I love it and am always open to more. Most recently I ended up with a new friend from a hostel in Taiwan at a gig in a park with electric versions of ancient instruments. I wouldn't have written it on an About Me music list but that was a fun fun evening. I play the silver flute to relax and guitar is pretty fun, though with that one I am still a beginner :) I used to do student radio with friends and have pretty fond memories of it. Perhaps podcasting with some people would be fun in the future.

Música, películas y libros

Too many books and poems. I also like translating fiction from Swedish, as a random fact, and have read Naive.Super. more times than necessary.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I am always up for cooking for people, sharing my languages, plus any tips about places lived or visited. If you like drawing or photography then this is something which is great to do together :)
