About Me

Hi! I recently bought a place in Vicente López, just outside the city center and very near the Río de la Plata. I have a girlfriend and she has her own place so we're sometimes here and sometimes there. We're both environmentalists and vegan.

My goal in life is to be harmless, happy and helpful (in that order). I'm very curious so I have a very wide range of interests and hobbies. I'm a philosopher by training and a web developer by trade. I think life is like dancing, it's not about getting somewhere, but enjoying. I enjoy riding my bike, playing and singing songs, sleeping a siesta under the sun, experimenting and inventing, programming beautiful and useful software, walking, meditating, playing board games, making and staring at a fire, cooking and eating, a hot shower, a good book, writing my thoughts, drawing in ink, simplifying and organizing, passing a frisbee or ball, axing some wood, drinking a glass of water, hugging and loving, a stimulating conversation, beer and wine, petting a dog, wrapping gifts, looking through a telescope or microscope, diving, listening to music, and dancing.

I started traveling when I was 18, first to the United States for three months, with a Work & Travel program. In the following years, during the summers, I hitchhiked through Uruguay, the north of Argentina, and Bolivia. In 2009 I traveled to New Zealand, where I stayed for seven months in my best friends place. Then I returned to finish my studies, and in the meantime I learned web developing, which I now do for a living. I also contributed a lot to Wikipedia, and now I contribute to the software as well as the encyclopedia. In 2013 I traveled Europe (Spain, Amsterdam, Germany, Poland), and in 2014 I headed for Southeast Asia (Japan, Bangkok, Bali, Hong Kong), taking advantage of the fact that I can work from anywhere. Now I'm back in Argentina, bought a place and I'm looking to take root and have a positive impact on my city. Think global, act local!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I learned about CouchSurfing while traveling through Europe. I decided to give it a go, made a full profile and immediately got a host in Prague. I only stayed a night, but it was a good night. Next I found a host in Krakow for a few nights. Him and his flatmates were extraordinary guys, that left a lasting impression on me for their generosity.

As soon as I returned to Buenos Aires, I moved with four friends and we had plenty of room for others, so we all agreed in hosting travellers, and so we did. One after another people came, and except for one couple, they were all great, and gave us no reason to stop. But some months later I travelled to Southeast Asia, where I had to do a break to hosting, and get into surfing! Again great people, in Japan, but especially in Hong Kong!

Once back in Buenos Aires, I participated in several CouchSurfing events and met great people, but I wasn't able to host. Then I got married, moved with my wife to a very centric place with an extra room and couch, so I started hosting, had a few guests and they were all awesome, thus reinforcing my commitment to this community. But then I got divorced, moved out and was kind of nomad for a while. Now, finally, I bought a place with an extra room and I'm ready and willing to host again!
