About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to experience and learn and listen and be adventurous and dance and live and love andddddd...

ABOUT ME

I am in love with art and the outdoors and food and culture and music and travel.

In the last 5 or so years I have been jetting away across the world, in between study, and I hope that I continue to for a long time as I think travelling is one of the most important things to do in life.

I am currently living in Lyon in France. My Dad's French but didn't speak French to me as a child, so I wanted to come and give it a go.

I'm a student and am currently majoring in Painting and Sociology. Who knows where it will take me. Hopefully somewhere. :)

I am pretty relaxed, and go with the flow. I'm not really one to miss an opportunity and get excited over little things.

PHILOSOPHY

My step brother drew a picture for me once and under the picture he wrote "Flow like water"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing has been so helpful and so great in meeting different people from around the world! It's really incredible how warm, generous and trusting people are with their homes and I appreciate that so much!

Interests

If I was to minimise all my interests to just a few things, they would be art, music, food, forming new connections with people and being in nature / the outdoors.

Honestly, if I could be out in the wilderness everyday walking up a mountain, or standing under a waterfall, I would.

ALSO!

I love art as it's a visual history of what was happening in the world socially and politically at the time. And it's ohhh so interesting to think about what was going through peoples heads in their process of creation.

I love food, as we all do. There is just sooo much amazing food in the world and I'm lucky enough to live in a city where the diversity and accessiblity of different foods, markets and restaurants is never ending and simply amazing.

Music, Movies, and Books

God, where do I begin with this category.

Some of my favourite movies are Darjeeling Limited, Mary and Max, Spirited Away The Stories We Tell and the Wedding Singer. I also love documentaries! - Basquiat, Beautiful Losers, Woody Allen Doco, Samsara... There are too many.

I love all different kinds of music and have realised that most of the music that I love has been recommended to me by the people that I love. There must be some kind of correlation. My music is always changing but my two favourite bands/artists at the moment are; The War On Drugs and Kurt Vile

And I like to read but don't do it enough. Books that I have loved though are; Norwegian Wood, the Harry Potters and Le Petit Prince! I'm also the biggest sucker for children's books. I value the imagination of illustrators and children’s book authors… Specifically works of Shaun Tan and Dr Seuss and in general children's books always have a little lesson / meaning at the end.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked in my favourite place in the world, Wilsons Promintory National Park, set up camp by the water, walked down to the sure with my friend, deserted beach, seal swimming in the clear waters.

Countries I’ve Visited
