About Me

Veteran couchsurfer - 10-years hiatus, now back:)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to believe in the sharing economy (as opposed to platform capitalism). Also, I think it's fun to host people from around the world - is kind of like 'travelling without moving'.

Interests

Engineer at heart, I like to optimize stuff and very much dislike wastefulness (Mottainai!). Besides making software - my profession - I enjoy tinkering with my boat, playing music and badminton, cooking (I make my own bread, ice cream, mayo, soda, pickles, etc.), and to study heterodox economics.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some picks from my iTunes: Astrud Gilberto, Bach, Bintus, Björk, Cheval de Frise, Clatterbox, Colossal, Death Grips, Foster the People, Honey for Petzi, Jimi Hendrix, Jonny L, Koyxen, Lisa Germano, Madonna, Marching Band, Mark Fell, Meshuggah, Oscar Peterson, Oxes, Porches, Rolling Stones, Scriabin, Shostakovich, Squarepusher, TEED, Vladislav Delay, 2562.

I don't read so much besides technical litterature, but when I do it'll usually be some modern, minimalist Danish litterature, or the classics - German authors (Zweig, Mann), or Danish, Herman Bang, Karen Blixen, etc.

Movies, mostly not Hollywood.. Kim Ki Duk, Takashi Miike, Ulrich Seidl, Lars von Trier, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in Portugal (Madeira Island) for two years, running an artist residency. Now I'm back on Madeira, building a house from scratch, with my own bare hands. The house is still not completely finished, so guests must expect of bit of construction mess.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a 'system' for making pretty good
cabbage baded salads.
