About Me

I'm an optimistic, contemplative, adventure-seeking, easygoing, silly, music-obsessed girl who believes that traveling is one of the best and most enriching ways to learn.

I studied international affairs, focusing on contemporary cultures and societies as well as sociocultural anthropology. That sounds like a mouthful, but it basically boils down to studying all types of different people and cultures, which is something I plan to keep learning about until the day I die!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I live in a tiny room in the tiny French town of Beuvry, thereby making it difficult for me to host people :( But I'll be moving back to New York later this year and will happily welcome surfers when I do so :)

My main purpose for joining Couchsurfing is to broaden my perspective by traveling to new places and meeting/ staying with new people along the journey. Everyone sees the world in a different way, so I love sharing experiences and learning about new places through the eyes of a local.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Pretty much anything! Lately I've been into Pinegrove, Julien Baker, Glass Animals, Rayland Baxter, and Rainbow Kitten Surprise. I also love Maynard Ferguson and Charles Mingus. The Beatles, Queen, and Nirvana have been constant favorites since I was born.

Movies: This is Spinal Tap, My Cousin Vinny, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Whiplash. I enjoy scary movies/ psychological thrillers too!

Books: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English, piano, trumpet, drums, basic guitar, and share my perspective after having lived in two of the USA's major cities - New York and Washington D.C.

I would love to learn any language you wish to teach me (especially French!), and anything else you're passionate about - if you're interested in something and want someone to listen to you, I'll enthusiastically do so.
