About Me

I'm an ambitious woman trying to work hard to achieve my goals and ambitions.
I live in Algeria which is not a very open minded country, specially when it comes to women! That's why since I joined university back in 2010, I started joining local, national or international associations and organizations mainly defending women's rights and human rights in general. Volunteering and humanitarian actions take a big part of my life. I simply hate to be useless or passive in my society. I was a member of a local feminist association called AFEPEC then became president of both international NGOs; AIESEC and Amnesty International here in my city Oran. For the time being i'm not taking any leadership positions in any NGO but rather helping and guiding new members. Currently I have a vision i'm focusing on, which is contributing in improving quality education in my country, either by doing it everyday now as a teacher or by working on my social entrepreneurship project about education.
Besides all this, I like to describe myself as an independant human being seeking knowledge and personnal developplement through interacting with people, taking initiatives for positive impact and i'm driven by inspiring other people. And what better way to do it than travelling? :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have travelled before and stayed at hotels or hostels, then one day... In a debate competition in Morocco in 2014, we were told that we'll be staying with host families.. At first I felt so unconfortable and wasn't really welcoming to the idea. But once there, I got to stay with a single university student who shared her room with me, who was carying and showed love and much of her culture, then we moved to another city but this time, I got actually to stay with a typical moroccan family, a heart warming experience, that I'll never forget. I felt that i'm spiritually richer than after any other previous trips ( though, I could describe as fancier ). Then last summer 2016, I lived the same experience in USA. Now I have a second Mom (Vallery) whom i'll never forger despite the super short period she hosted me for. Why am I on couchsurfing? Cause a travel without spiritual links and cultural exchange is not a REAL complete travel. I want to feed my soul with other experiences and I want to contribute in feeding other people's spirit through seeing my country and beautifull city.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love dancing motivational songs, mainly english ones. Reading is interesting when you have time :p . Best book I read was the alchemist by PAULO COELLO. Movies ... I'm addicted to movies! This is how I actually learnt english. I'm more into thrillers and comedy.. But love it when the movie triggers intelligence . best movie seen: The law of attraction, the secret; a movie that changed my life and simply made me happier :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One day, I was with my class of high school, took them to the garden to revise some stuff preparing them for their final very important exam by the end of the school year. Knowing that this class used to be considered as the most difficult to handle in the entire School. Then while talking, a learner told me: teacher, have you seen the movie, freedom writers? i said yeah! She answered: you remind me of the teacher! You managed to change our behaviour towards the best and you inspire us ! That was an amazing lived and seen moments. Humanitarian links we creat with other people is what drives me in life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach love, ways of living in harmony and understanding, learn it yourself or by interracting with people mainly through travelling and finaly, share it so it grows bigger ;)
