About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy every day.

ABOUT ME

I used to say: So I've been traveling for a year now, trying to shake off that ol' Protestant work ethic and get down to really enjoying myself. I'm learning to unitask, and want to meet you so we can talk about our adventures, what's most important in our lives, and how we see ourselves in relation to the world around us.

But that was a couple of years ago. Now I live in St. Gallen, Switzerland with my fellas (Christoph, my hubby, and Loki, our adorable trouble-making kitty). I'm transitioning into being a full time PhD student and studying US Latino cuisine as a lens for culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted innumerable people when I lived in Minneapolis, Denver, Brooklyn and now St. Gallen- some officially through Couchsurfing, most not.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When my man and I were traveling across the US some years ago, we met all kinds of crazy awesome people. We've since started hosting and love the whole concept of bringing the world to where you live and being invited into other's homes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've worked on an organic farm in Ireland, gone to language school in Guatemala. I started a community garden in the elementary school yard where I taught in Brooklyn, have volunteered at food coops across the country. I like to knit, though I'm no good at it. I've interned at Amnesty International in New York and the Human Rights Center in Minneapolis.
