About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To experience new people, and the cultures that they come from. Life is about making connections...

ABOUT ME

Laid back and open minded; likes trying new things; cautiously adventurous; silly, whimsical and fun. I'm a fun loving humanist, with a burning desire to experience.

PHILOSOPHY

"To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Looking to make new acquaintances when I travel, and see what their hometown is all about. I return, I want to show travelers why I settled down in Nashville, TN (Music City USA!). It's awesome here!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted surfers at my house in the past, as well as couchsurfed my way around the Azore Islands of Portugal.

Interests

I love music; it defines my entire life. I love meeting and talking to new people and hearing their viewpoints and stories. I love traveling; seeing new places, sampling new cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love zombie movies, James Bond, and visual films. Visual is a loose category; Transformers, Amelie and Baraka are all visual movies, but they are not all equally redeeming.
I love 90's grunge, 70's rock, 50s jazz and Middle Eastern folk music. I'm eclectic. I write music, which a friend describes as "Gypsy Metal".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got to ride a motorcycle through the Rocky Mountains one day. I spent part of a week on top of a mountain in Montana, where we set off a half-mile line of explosives. I spent all day snowboarding to the top of a hill in Jackson Hole Wyoming once. I watched GIANT salmon swim upstream through a canyon river in Idaho. I flew (many times) in helicopters over the Arizona Strip and Grand Canyon. I went swimming on Christmas Day at Malibu beach. I drove over Donner Pass in a terrible snowstorm, without chains on my tires. I spent $180 on dinner for 2 at a sushi restaurant. I hiked to the top of an island volcano, and slept overnight in the crater. I attended a 4 day music festival on the beaches of an island in the middle of the Atlantic. I scored 8th row tickets to a Tool concert. I've scuba dived in the Carribean, Sea of Cortez, and an abandoned rock quarry in Kentucky. I ate dinner with my toes in the water at a fancy restaurant in Aruba. I spent 2 days alone in the trees of southern Tennessee, watching the autumn leaves fall.
