ABOUT ME

I am from California and Anna is from Missouri. We met social dancing through some friends and I've swept her off her feet since then (quite literally)! We are both a bit introverted, but do love company and hearing people's stories. I'm allergic to cats, and sometimes it seems life itself. Anna's allergic to me (or so she likes to say anyway)! We're very fun people, but generally speaking if given the chance to talk dance, we'd never stop... Our favorite past time (of course) is finding the most random public places to dance in. I'm still waiting for someone to post youtube videos of us dancing in the last bus station we were at.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are really new to this site and so far have been enthralled with the warm and welcoming people we have met. We get involved mainly as a back up for places to stay while we're touring for our dance business, but the experiences and adventures we've had couch surfing have been wonderful!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Once we had a couch surfer who offered us a place to stay. We then met up with him and realized he had not informed his family we were coming, and he was leaving the country in a few days!!! I think he thought we could take his room when he left. Unfortunately, the family was in no position to host us, but they were so wonderful about everything and did their best while we found other accommodations. So please, if you offer us a couch make sure it's approved of by those living with you first... lol! Actually, every couch surfing experience we have had so far has been really great, even the short term ones.

Interests

Obviously, dance is our passion. It has been ever since we started and is one of those things that invades your life and conversation to the point that non dance friends and family can get a little sick of it at times! Ha!!! However, David is a huge fan of chess and will play against anyone he can get his hands on. And I am a huge nature lover. Really anything to do with water just brings me bliss!

Music, Movies, and Books

Anna and I tend to be opposites in a lot of ways, but we do tend to enjoy the same entertainment. We don't get out to movies much, but we love big band music, blues, jazz, and salsa (Anna's musical tastes are much more diverse than mine). We are currently reading the Ender's game series and are about finished with it. We also enjoy books like the Princess Bride and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I'm sure there are others, but those come to mind first.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When we saw the Eiffel tower. It was amazing. No, really! Neither of us really understood why a big metal radio tower would be so interesting until we saw it in person. The sheer size of it just blew our minds!!!

I would also have to say that the first time we boarded a plane to leave for a tour of Europe for 7 months just boggled my mind. It seemed unreal, like I was finally living my dream. And now, lo and behold, we get to do it AGAIN!!!
