About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Check out if there are still clever and easygoign people in this world.

ABOUT ME

Hello,

I'm a 30-years old man from Italy. I work as a teacher since 2004. Though I was born in Palermo (Sicily) I moved to Biella (Piedmont) to get a job. Now I live in this wonderful place near the Alps, and I really like it - but I miss the sea...
I'm gonna marry next June, and my wife and I will live here in Biella. We love animals and I share my place with two beautiful cats, Totò and Filippo. They make me smile every day, while they remember me what love is.

PHILOSOPHY

I think that you can't understand how much you can do until you don't try it. I also believe that you can't live without sharing your dreams and projects with other people: there's no meaning in a "private idea".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I'll do my best...I believe that this experience can be fundamental to build a new way of conceiving human relations: that's the reason why I decided to join the project.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I got none...

Interests

I love music and I play guitar since I was 13. I've also played bass and percussions. While I was in sicily I recorded two demotapes with two different bands playing a strong mix of death metal and crossover. I listen a lot of music and I try to avoid prejudices - but I just can't stand commercial music (MTV's pop, italian melodic, latino-american childy stuff).
I love literature, poetry and - of course - philosophy. I read a lot of books, and I try to learn something everyday.
I'm an activist for the battle against criminality (mafia) in Italy, as member of a national association called LIBERA (that means "free"). I think it's not a stupid thing to fight for a better world.

Music, Movies, and Books

mmmm....they're so many...let's try:

no way. too many. I can just give a general description and some examples.

Movies: everything that makes me think (Network, La Haine, Jules et Jim, but also lighter stuff - as much as it can be fun without being stupid)

Music: Rock, Metal (just some interesting and clever bands, no chains, spikes or make-up for me), Bebop jazz, ethnic music, a few italian singers (F.De André overall), classic music (I love Beethoven and Mozart) and the wisest electronic music

books...no, that's too hard. But I read zounds of times Plato's "Gorgia" and "Repubblica", Dostojevskij's "Brothers Karamazov", Nietzsche's "Menschliches, allzumenschliches" and Dylan Dog's "The long goodbye". I read also lighter stuff: I started reading the tomatoes' cans.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw a wonderful Maelstrom in northern norway, but it was nothing compared to my little nepew's smile. I made some people discover the power of thinking, and that's beautiful.
I also felt on my knees as I saw the northern light...unbelievable!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have everything to learn, but not so much to teach. Actually I don't believe to be an "expert" in something.
