CURRENT MISSION

I am a musician. My work is to spread the rich heritage of Indian Music in this world. I teach interested and sincere students. I perform in concerts, and festivals all over. I conduct workshop for interested students and fellow musicians.

ABOUT ME

Music defines me... learning, playing, jamming with other genres. Teaching Indian drums to my students.. Practising takes a major time, when am not on tour to Europe..

Photography is my second passion. I like photoshop (not a pro though). I like nature photography..

Also, back in India I love hanging out with some of my foodie friends.. trying out new recipes.. :-)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to meet new people on CS.. I like to attend the CS group activities in my hometown whenever I can. I had some great experience so far while surfing on CS. Some of my friends are on CS, from whom I knew about this global community initially. I look forward to meet more nice people here.. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had amazing experiences on CS almost every time. I strongly feel that we are a big family here, beyond borders and diverse cultural roots.. And what keeps us going is the trust, respect for other backgrounds, being open to other cultures, and sympathy for others..

Musica, film e libri

I am not an avid reader, but still grab on some journals, magazines, newspaper.. whenever I can. Articles relating to World Music, any musician and of course Indian Music are of special interests to me. I am also a gadget-lover. I go through the review when a new mobile phone or a laptop is launched. I always glance through the review of a new handsonic or SPD.. :)

Music keeps me going. I have good collection of Indian Classical Music, semi-classical, and folk. Also collaboration album from legends like Ali Akbar Khan and John Handy; Pandit Ravi Shankar and George Harisson, the Beatles; and many albums of John McLaughlin... Even I used to collect the videos from 'Shakti' - McLaughlin collaborated with Ustad Zakir Hussain and other maestros.. I listen to them a lot.. music :)

Will Smith, Russell Crowe, Tom Hanks are some of my favourites. I watch their movies. Also classics like Charlie Chaplin are on the list too.. I am choosy about movies.. :) In lighter moments, Mr. Bean also come up in my list.

We are all here for a cause on this planet, I feel.. and hence, we share likely vibrations that defines us and our cause. So, in other words, we share exactly what defines us..

I think CS is a global community, people engage into making life easier for others with a little help, sympathy, and understanding. People share their expertise, experience, views and knowledge for the common well-being of a greater community life. They teach what they know better, they learn in turn about new cultures, and ways of life.
I feel CS has made the globe a smaller place. There's so much to learn about practical ways of life, share and teach others..
