ABOUT ME

I like autumn, hiking, coffee, cars with manual transmissions, long books, deep snow, history, spicy food, motorcycles, labor law, my dog, being outside, extreme changes, and conversations with strangers.

I believe you can tell a lot about people by how they treat their waitress.

PHILOSOPHY

Maya Angelou was right, "You can never go home again, but the truth is you can never leave home, so it'€™s all right."

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host when I'm home and surf when I travel. I also try to spread the word to cool people along the way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

With fellow Couchsurfers, I hitchhiked through southern Ukraine and Romania, rode on the back of a motorcycle through mountains in central Mexico, danced erratically on many surfaces, hatched and followed through with ill-conceived plans, shared stories over cups of coffee and meaningful revelations after too many glasses of beer.

I've learned, among other things, about drama classes, flying airplanes, the first nations of Canada, birdwatching, photography, cowboys and creative nonfiction, the restaurant business, camel racing in India, reading tarot, and the jazz scene in NYC.

I love this site.

兴趣

Podcasts, photography, reading, making stuff, cooking (sometimes), talking history and politics, wandering around places where I don't speak the language, and getting into (and out of) various degrees of trouble.

I can teach you how to knit like a grandmother, speak Russian like a 5 year old, drink like a Ukrainian, and make decent pancakes. I want to learn everything.
