About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel in every continent in the world

ABOUT ME

I'm a free-spirited, easygoing, independent person whose biggest passions are music and travelling.

I love meeting people and experiencing new things and think CouchSurfing is a great way to do this.

PHILOSOPHY

Happiness isn't a destination, it's a state of mind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm hoping to couch surf my way around SE Asia and Australia. I don't have a couch available at the moment but plan to when I go back to the UK, whenever that may be...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new, please be nice to me!

Interests

Many many many: travelling, live music and festivals, being outside, dancing, playing piano, meditation, eating, performance art, cycling, BBQ-ing, partying, meeting people...

Music, Movies, and Books

Yes to all. Some I like:

Movies - Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Wayne's World, Lost in Translation, Garden State, Slumdog Millionaire, Donnie Darko, Labyrinth, The Wizard of Oz

Music - Gogol Bordello, Radiohead, Animal Collective, Beck, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Pulp, Blur, Johnny Cash, TV on the Radio, Primal Scream

Books - anything by Haruki Murakami, Louis de Bernieres, Nick Hornby, books about travelling. Just finished Shantaram - a very big novel of awesomeness.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Playing in a band at Glastonbury Festival and seeing hundreds of people stomping to our beats.

Snorkelling at the Great Barrier Reef.

Training and bathing elephants in Laos.

Walking hand in hand with a little old H'mong lady through the rice fields of Sapa, Vietnam.

Cycling across San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, twice.

Being at the front for Gogol Bordello's set at Fuji Rock Festival, wearing a Frankenstein mask and catching the drummer's stick, and then meeting three of the band afterwards.

Celebrating New Year's Eve 07/08 drinking cocktails at Lost in Translation's Park Hyatt Hotel and watching Tokyo's never-ending nightscape.

Snowboarding in the mountains in Japan and making it down without falling over for the first time.

Finding paradise on an island in the middle of Italy.

Learning how to be still, through meditation.

Overall living in Japan for two years has been the most rewarding and amazing thing I've ever done.
