ABOUT ME

My motto.. "There are no problems, only solutions"
I am a Malaysian born Aussie. I served in the Australian army as a paratrooper for 12 years and have recently retired from the service. Traveled to many hot spots around the world but seeing it as a soldier on duty is far different to walking the land solo without any support or protection.

I now call myself a full time volunteer. Some of my projects include working in an orphanage in Nepal, mentoring troubled youths with The Big Brothers and Big Sisters program in Melbourne, State Emergency Services as a rescuer and anti human trafficking with TGM in SE Asia. And I am the co-founder and Director of CASD-Australia and iNGO that sees operations in remote parts of Nepal ( www.casd-australia.org) . It all carries a different set of challenges which i have had to learn to negotiate but I find it extremely rewarding

i love meeting people. i have been doing the couch surfing thing long before i learned about this community. i lived in a surfing town where many foreign travelers would come to learn to surf. i have had the pleasure of meeting many of them and many have stayed with me at my home and vice verca. If you wish to stay with me , please quote the following sentence in your couch request..."what manner of men are those who wear the maroon beret"

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

i saw the raising of the East Timorese national flag for the 1st time ever after declaring independence form Indonesia's oppressive occupation for nearly 30 years at a very emotional charged dawn service. something i will never forget.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I teach massage, surfing, slack lining, body flying and parkour. I want to learn EVERYTHING, I will share food, love and life.
