About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To travel far and wide and meet like-minded people
ABOUT ME
I had my first taste of travel in 1993 backpacking round Australia and vowed then I want to embark on a RTW trip. Well life got in the way and 18 years later I jacked the job in and sold the car and booked that ticket.
I started in South America where I traveled around for 5 months, I then embarked on part 2 and started my travels in St Petersburg, Russia and I am making my way through South East Asia, then briefly to Perth and last but not least New Zealand.
I will finally be heading home and back to reality at the end of November and already planning my next trip, it's in my blood now, I need to travel.
Though I am having an absolutely fantastic time I do miss my friends and my sporting clubs such as swimming, running and commando/military fitness clubs and a new member of Lodge scubber diving. Through these clubs I have made some great friends and conquered many challenges.
My other love is London, I am a true Londoner born and bread, the more places I visit the more appreciate my home town and I am really looking forward to the 2012 Olympics, London and Londoners I am sure, will rise to the ocassion.
Once the backpack is unpacked, my travel memories will be just a faded haze I intend to open up my couch to surfers so that I don't lose the bug of seeing new places and meeting new people.
PHILOSOPHY
Live like you will die tomorrow and learn like you would live forever.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment I am traveling and have only been a member since June. I have met a number of people who have either surfed or hosted and all have had memorable and positive experiences and I am looking forward to the day when I have surfed my first couch and I can say I am a fully fledged member of the SC community.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first CS experience happened in the city of Phnom Penh, I was browsing the CS website and clicked on events close to me and low and behold that very night there was a group of CS meeting up at a bar in the city. At the beginning of the evening there was a group of 6 people, which then doubled in number over the course of the evening.
Not only was it a great opportunity to meet other CS travellers but also there were CS who were either native to the city and CS who have moved there and now call Phnom Penh their home.
The evening was shared with a great mix of people in a very relaxed and jolly atmosphere. I would highly recommend anyone to go along to a CS social if they have the opportunity and I will always look out for any future events happening in the area.
I am also please to say I have had my real first CS experience with Debbie in Albany and hoping to do some more.
Interests
Used to work with horses, so they are really a passion, enjoy taking part in any sport, hiking, reading, new challenges, baking, eating and having long lunches on a Sunday afternoon with my friends.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have extremely bad taste in music, all things Euro trash and 80's era. At the moment I am loving all action films and especially Transformers 3. Trying to make up for my lack of interest in reading when I was a teenager and embracing the classics, eg Charles Dickens Great Expectations.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Swimming the English Channel in a realy team of 6. The whole experience was fantastic from the training in waters of 13.5 degrees, the sea sickness. The commaderie amongst the team was fantastic, meeting other channel swimmers & of course regailing the tale of our successful crossing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to think I have seen a little bit more of the world than I had a year ago and in these past 8 months I believe I have gained a wealth of experiences and knowledge which given the opportunity would love to pass on and hopefully inspire others as people have me.
