About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To break out of my bubble.
ABOUT ME
***I've recently moved to a new place, so I'll be responding to couch requests much more reliably now!***
I think I am an intense, compassionate person. I tend to get insanely into certain subjects or hobbies for six months to a year, and then completely forget about them... until I suddenly pick them up again. I enjoy meeting new people who give a damn about something, whatever that may be.
PHILOSOPHY
Can you do something about it? Then don't worry about it. Can you not do something about it? Then don't worry about it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I can't wait to be able to host people travelling around the world as well as local people who simply need a place to stay for a night. I want to be part of a community that is living proof that altruistic goodwill is part of everyone. Well, most everyone.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't surfed too much, but the few experiences I've had have been awesome. The hosts I've stayed with in Seattle totally saved my butt after other accommodations fell through.
Interests
I love photography, cars (I have an awesome yellow Volkswagen!), mass transit (I take the train, bus and trolley whenever it's even reasonably possible to do so anywhere I go, primarily because of the people watching... and I drive buses too!), good Porters and IPAs (beer), emergency medicine, and music!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I love Spoon, Cake, Ben Folds, The Hives, The Postal Service/Death Cab for Cutie, Squarepusher, Aphex Twin, The Books, Justice, Out Hud, Beck, Bloc Party, and especially Boards of Canada.
Books: I enjoy primarily nonfiction. I'm currently reading "Manias, Panics, and Crashes", an analysis of financial pandmonium throughout the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It's certainly interesting to get some perspective on our current situation... they were having credit crunches back before the automobile was invented!
I do love the standards, though. Kerouac's "On the Road" and Yoshimura's "Shipwrecks" are both books dear to my heart.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I performed CPR while my partner started an intravenous line on a lady in front of her daughter, and our team ended up saving her life.
