Overview
About Me
I graduated from U of A in May and since then have been devoting most of my time to applying for Dental School. Now that I've jumped that hurdle I'm gearing up for travel. I want to make the most of the time I have left before school begins. What better way to do that then to book a one way flight and see what happens. I spent 3 months living in Bangkok for my last semester of school and it was the best decision I've ever made. The travel bug bit me and I'm determined to experience more of the world and the amazing cultures that make humanity so diverse.
I'm a very outdoorsy person and I love staying active through hiking, biking, swimming, running, yoga, climbing... You get the picture. I'm always willing to try new activities and live on the edge. I'm a huge music lover. I played trumpet for 7 years and dabbled with guitar. I'm also artistic and enjoy drawing and sculpting whenever I get the chance. If there's one thing that I'm crazy about above all the rest though, its FOOD. The ingredients, the process, the result, all of these things get me stoked! It's important to me that I experience as much local and diverse food as possible while I'm abroad.
My goal for the few months I have abroad is to meet amazing people who are proud of their culture and everything that it has to offer. I look forward to making new friends and sharing laughs!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Why go the hotel and hostel route when you can meet people who know the area and tell you what to see and what to avoid. It doesn't get any better. I want the real picture with the help of new friends.
Interests
Like many people I have many interests. I love climbing, indoor and out. If you haven't tried it, you should. I'm a big fan of music, only the good stuff. Food is amazing, especially when cooked with a caring hand and great fresh ingredients. I like to brew my own beer and I quite enjoy a nice pint. I take a frisbee with me everywhere. If I feel the inspiration, I really like drawing. Pretty much everything in nature interests me.

Music, Movies, and Books
I think I have an eclectic taste in music and find beauty in a wide range of music genres. One of my favorite activities is sharing music with friends. Travel movies, comedies, horror, they all trip my trigger. I don't read as much as I would like to but when I do I enjoy a good Sci Fi from authors like Orson Scott Card.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just a quick story. I was in Siem Reap Cambodia with some buddies and we decided to journey out to the outskirts to see what life was really like for the majority of the population. We were astounded at the quality of life. Houses were made up of various sheets of wood and metal and were barely standing. As we explored, we noticed that despite the living conditions, all of the people were smiling and happy to wave at the foreigners. It opened my eyes to the fact that happiness is relative and that we're all connected in this life.
Also I once mistakenly ate fried lamb brains. They really weren't bad...
Teach, Learn, Share
The most important part of travel is learning about each others culture. When you really understand that, we're really all the same. Looking for a good time with good people.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you decide to host me, I can share good laid back company and a genuine desire to explore and experience life to the fullest. I'm always grateful and willing to learn!
