About Me

Lifelong traveler, musician, singer, worker, camper, person of many interests. Compassionate with a kind and gentle heart with a capacity for fierceness when needed. I've most often traveled and worked alone. My friends are like the stars in the sky, two here, one there, three over there, each and all incredible and unique, even when the sun is out, they are still there.

I lived in a van for years. I lived outside for years. I hitchhiked around the United States extensively for years. I worked in construction. I drove tractor trailers for over sixteen years to earn an income. I have worked on farms and in restaurants. I have written blogs and articles. I have written well over a hundred songs and toured professionally playing my own songs all over the States.

I practice yoga nearly daily. I dance when I feel the music. There are seven practices I engage in every single day no matter what. I practice being fully present in the here and now. I play music. I write. I exercise. I connect with someone I love. I commune with nature. I handle my interface with the world ( clean my room, do my taxes, complete the job application, etc. etc. )

I actively work with my own shadow for integration and meaning in my life. I enjoy meeting people and connecting. Music is how I learned to communicate with people and I find that when I play it helps to establish trust and understanding thru the sharing. I have met many of my dear friends thru the sharing of music.

I believe in kindness and context, knowing world history of land and peoples, accepting paradox and the limitations of all our various knowings. I believe in defending those who need it and in taking personal responsibility for how I show up in the world. Nobody owes me or anybody else any validation or even acceptance.

I witness the function of making music is the act of opening and holding space for others to feel their own emotions and to consider their own internal spaces. Art and music also grant us context for our experience of the world and other people. I see my purpose in life is to be a witness and also to hold my center and grounding in the gifts and awareness that I have been given.

I love to laugh and I listen to comedy a lot and practice writing it and engaging people with it. Cruelty of any sort is not welcome in my presence but I honor strength and integrity of character. I despise the acts of robbing and stealing, especially when visited upon those who already have little.

I am in love with the earth and my favorite medicine is gratitude. In addition to playing music I like to contribute those who host me by participating in basic chores which make life more comfortable such as washing dishes.

I love good food and the sharing of the same with good people. I respect and appreciate those who show up and share their gifts and talents. I love good sleep!

I enjoy connecting with people thru my music. I also enjoy meeting and getting to know people thru dance, walking, exercise, games, acro, hiking, camping, art projects, community service, traveling, and enjoying nature in any way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I mostly participate as a traveler. I love to travel and meet people and I find that playing music introduces me to a lot of people around the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed with couch surfing hosts in Richmond Virginia, Jacksonville Fla., Memphis TN, Fort Smith AK., OK City, and Albuquerque NM. I don’t have a house from which to host so for now I am travelling.

Interests

Music, nature, history, comedy, swimming, art, people young and old, community service, photography, films, good food, time signatures, poetry, love and relationship dynamics. The markers and life cycles of civilizations.
Music to me is about energy awareness and self realization thru vulnerable sharing. Music is how I learned to communicate with people and how I learn to understand the world around me.
I am an artist and I absorb influence everywhere I am and from everyone I meet.
I give a lot. I love connecting people and I deeply appreciate kind, friendly, and outgoing people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled the U.S. for years when I was younger living in National Parks and staying in Cities playing music at every opportunity for about nine hours every day.

I have seen so many awesome places that are so incredibly beautiful. I am filled with inspiration when I have the opportunity to be in the intense beauty of nature at it's roughest and rawest i.e. The Snake River in Idaho, The Grand Tetons in Wyoming, Grand Canyon, The Desert...

Teach, Learn, Share

I studied Wing Chun Kung Fu for a time.
I study and teach music theory and technique via the guitar.
I love to learn.
I am interested in many things.
I want very much to learn other languages.

I can help with cooking and cleaning and such.
