Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Trying to create fictions, learning to be less afraid.
ABOUT ME
I'm not good at small talk but I welcome philosophic debates, especially about aesthetics and ethics and, from time to time, even metaphysics. I really like listening to stories, and I try to tell them too, though not necessarily very well. I'm a cat person who is also fond of dogs.
PHILOSOPHY
To try to be good, and to get better at it. It's hard!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None yet, just heard good experiences from friends. I have participated in HelpX, a similar kind of traveling/good will project except with a healthy dose of organic farming added, in England and Wales, and in the States. It was pretty much the best time of my life, so I'm looking for more.
Interests
Art, web design, ornithology, gardening, impracticality, comics, imaginary places, animals, books, how to make things, how things work, the sublime, paper sculpture, Pokemon

Books:
Lolita and Pale Fire by Nabokov, The Children's Hospital and Gob's Grief by Chris Adrian, Ficciones by Borges, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon, Various non-fiction books about cryptography, neurology, the Civil War, and owls.
Movies: Spirited Away, Funky Forest (a really very weird Japanese film).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Snorkeling in Mediterranean Turkey over underwater ruins. Generally all of Turkey, really. The north Welsh coast on a cloudless day. The Isle of Skye after a good, hard rain.
Teach, Learn, Share
I pretty much only know how to draw, paint, and make websites. I can spell many long words, and know a lot of small random facts, like what shellac is made of. Also, I have mastered a really great honey scone recipe. But there's a LOT I want to learn: baking, growing, sewing, bookbinding...
