About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Instill in my son curiosity, joy and enjoyment
ABOUT ME
It seems like every year I add at least one new interest to my repertoire, have a finger in every pie. I've lived and traveled overseas, and my most favorite trip in the world was to visit the Mekong Delta with my son this past December. My son is the apple of my eye, and I want to spend the next few years introducing him to different cultures and countries, whether here or on the road.
PHILOSOPHY
I'll get back to you on this. For now, suffice it to say I'm not keen on pomp and circumstance, ostentatious display of personal wealth, or things of that ilk. I have been listening to Pema Chodron these last few years, increasingly feel like her approach to life and to buddhism are key to get me where I want to go, maybe key to helping me figure out where that is. Also admire Thich Nat Hanh - amazing, gentle giant....

Music, Movies, and Books
Most recent read is Tim Harford's Adapt; I now want to read every book he mentions. Recent past: Pete Dexter's Spooner, Jill McCorkle's short stories, Anne Lamont's work, New Yorker, David Sedaris's essays, Isaac Babel all come to mind for reading. I enjoy Janet Evanovich's whacky characters and hilariously unbelievable coincidences -- light fun. For music, any good classical guitar, jazz, blues, world music, classical and rock. Movies -- chick flicks, indy features, fine animation although not all of it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
the way country women work -- Nepal, Vietnam, everywhere I'm pretty sure. Incredible -nonstop work but often happy and incredibly "good" and grounded. They amaze me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've done a pretty good job of raising my son, so maybe tips on parenting. I like to cook and bake, and all but sleep with a pen in my hand, so to speak. My son taught a toddler at the table next to ours how to "high-five" by the end of a banquet once. He's a natural - patient, tolerant, loves kids.
