About Me
Hello! I am Kiwi expat -- originally from New Zealand but living and studying in America. I am completing a doctorate in music, and have played violin all my life. Music has been my biggest "passport" to travel, and through it have had the chance to visit some wonderful places in the world, including a coastal fishing town in the UK, the Rockies in Colorado, historic Edinburgh and Washington DC. I also love photography, swimming, exploring new cultures and learning new things!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've had nothing but positive experiences with couchsurfing. I think it's a fantastic way to travel and get into the culture of the places you visit. It's also an affordable way to travel -- let's face it -- and meet great people along the way. I am all for that. Being a musician, I'm especially sympathetic to fellow artists who need to travel frequently for auditions etc, and so am happy to help out with accommodation whenever I can.
Interests
I love to learn and explore, and really enjoy drinking a flat white, latte or tea in a cafe. Besides music, I like giving a go at other forms of art/creativity/imagination/expression, like writing, photography and dance. I like getting to know all different kinds of people and finding commonalities, but also really value the down time I have on my own.
