About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see and enjoy as much of the world and its people, places, and things in my short time as possible!

ABOUT ME

I just got back from 2 months of surfing in Costa Rica and am now in the middle of a 4 month Europe trip that should be ending in October. I would like to do as much as possible of this via the brilliant concept of CouchSurfing. It just makes so much sense... I know that its the little things that people do that make the world go 'round. My favorite part about traveling is meeting all new and cool people and (as a SOCIOLOGIST) experiencing all the different cultures that coexist out there.

PHILOSOPHY

Don´t forget to bring a towel!

B.Y.O.M. = Be Your Own Man (or Woman), within the limits of respect, do whatever YOU want to do, whenever YOU want to do it. If it makes you feel right, go for it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I've hosted a few travelers and had some epic times with them! I love the idea of CouchSurfing. I've been telling everyone I know about it and have gotten heaps of friends into it already.

So many times I've thought, "There's gotta be a couch in that random house right there, and I bet they wouldn't mind if I just stayed there quietly for a night or two!" I know this because I have spare couches and have always thought that about my couches and any cool randoms that might want to keep $10-$60 in their pocket and meet some real locals and experience some real local life. I love the idea of CouchSurfing as an inexpensive way to travel the world, and I hope world travelers will stay with me, and that I get to meet all kinds of chill people out there by staying on their spare couch!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I've only hosted a handful of surfers. I only learned of this concept recently while traveling through Costa Rica with a bunch of Swedes, Norwegians, Irish, French, etc. people. Pretty stoked to expand my CouchSurfing resume. I´ve found it insanely difficult to CS in Europe though, it seems like everyone is all booked up.

In Poland, I just met up with a few Australian dudes who surfed my couch in Boulder a few months back!

Interests

I like to cook, surf, play pretty much any sport and run around, get lost, drink beer, meet cool people, photography, hang out, volunteer, and get really lost. I'm down for anything new, will happily sleep on a floor if you've got one, and am pretty easy going. I'm clean and clean up after myself!

Music: a lot of stuff, rock, punk, classic rock, jazz, bluegrass...Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, Neil Young, Alexisonfire, Gatsby's American Dream, Jet, Widespread Panic, heaps more....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have tried to see and do and take-in as much as possible in the short time I'm given. I have...
*surfed through Costa Rica
*driven through much of the United States
*done the second highest bungee jump in the world in New Zealand
*rode elephants, got destroyed in volleyball by transvestites, eaten cockroaches and maggots, and full moon party in Thailand
*crossed the border into Nicaragua (which is way more intense than it sounds)
*jumped sand dunes on Fraser Island, and lived in Surfers Paradise for a semester
*Held a Peregrin Falcon in Prague and drank at the coolest outdoor beer garden there
*saw FC Barcelona v. Boca Juniors at Camp Nou in Barcelona on my 23rd birthday
*Canyoned in Interlaken, Switzerland
*Met some amazing people and had some incredible couchsurfing experiences through this brilliant website

I really want to go to Egypt and see the pyramids, preferably arriving on a camel...

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn a lot more about cooking. I love to cook and find food to be an easy way to spread smiles. I am pretty athletic and am always excited about doing anything active and outdoors. I'm also a gamer and can probably beat you in any video game. I also want to learn an instrument, probably piano...There just aren't enough hours in a lifetime.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Fiji, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey
