ABOUT ME

I'm hopelessly devoted to the entire world and a 10/10 extrovert, not a stereotypical math doctorate student!! I am obsessed with playing music (mainly drums) and deeply listening to everything around me.

I love to meet new people, make video art, learn new things, watch movies, meditate, teach, cook, eat, bike, play games, practice appreciation and slowness, think about how to solve problems, come up with things I am afraid of and ways to overcome those fears, and I love to make people feel good about themselves. I am constantly searching but I am content.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to experience as much as possible! There is love everywhere, in people, in a moment, in a lake, in an espresso, in a grain of sand. I love change and feeling. My personal philosophy itself changes every day and I hope it always does.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I went on a US tour with a band and we stayed with couchsurfers all over America! All the people we stayed with were so kind and so generous! Since then Couchsurfing is one of my favorite things on the internet, really, it's so inspiring.

I'm interested in most things really

I love hearing personal histories, witnessing the joy of others, and seeing and feeling that which binds us all together.

I love all forms of science and art, spirituality, architecture, books, games, animals, computers, food, acceptance, plants, space, reading, but most of all I am interested in the feelings and experiences which cannot be put into words. I suppose I can be quiet and pensive at times but I am very interested in the beauty of relative silence, and what silence in a moment can say about it.

Currently some of my favorite music is Stereolab, Robert Fripp, Broadcast, Philip Glass, Terry Riley, The Pentangle...I am so so completely deeply in love with music and one of my favorite things in the world is discovering new music, so let's show each other some!!

My favorite film directors/writers, in no order, is something like Werner Herzog, the Coen brothers, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Charlie Kaufman, Hayao Miyazaki, Akira Kurosawa, David Cronenberg, Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Richard Linklater, and Terry Gilliam. There are several wild card movies that are my favorites but we'll get into that later.

I read a lot of nonfiction; the truth is often stranger and more amazing to me than fiction. the literary truths I find I tend to draw from movies.
