About Me

My name is Spurge. I'm 24 and live in Brooklyn, NY currently. I was introduced to couchsurfing by my former roommate who is a large advocate of the service and I have met some cool people through their stay at my apartment. (Check out her recommendation!)

I'm a musician. I've spent the last two years working my way through the NYC music industry to meet lots of cool people in order to inform my own creative processes and have a strong base of support in order to eventually release & distribute my own music.

Some of my favorite recent albums are: To Pimp a Butterfly (Kendrick Lamar), Sound & Color (Alabama Shakes), Inji (LA Priest) & Multilove (Unknown Mortal Orchestra), Freetown Sound (Blood Orange).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people who love their cities and love sharing their experiences.

--- And because I'm too poor for these expensive ass hostels ---

Interests

Music! Working on it, in it. The dialogues it creates, the memories it embellishes and the stories told through it.

I enjoy traveling, of course.

The things I usually do to get to know any city are: record shops, museums, thrift shops & cafes.

K-film is one of the most interesting and entertaining markets in the film industry to me. Studying both film and Japanese in univeristy, I was exposed to the wonderful auterism of visionaries like Wong Kar-Wai (Chinese, I know),
