About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To create more and consume less - I've got a ways to go.
ABOUT ME
I love to travel and meet new people! I moved to Binghamton from Brooklyn, in search of more time and space to live creatively and in a more natural setting.
I am big on the arts; I write for and edit the local arts & culture paper, collect and sell vintage clothing. I go through phases in which I make a bunch of crafts, like jewelry or marbled paper. I also play guitar and love to sing. I also love theatre, and am studying Meisner Technique. I just started piano lessons... you get the idea.
I like to cook and I love to eat. I worked at local restaurant and am always excited to try and create new food and drinks.
I recently worked as a long-term substitute for an elementary school music teacher, which was a great experience. Most recently, I taught a summer enrichment program for late-elementary-aged students.
PHILOSOPHY
Be open and honest and people will (usually) send it back your way. Get lots of rest and do your best (I just came up with that...I like to sleep). Ask the universe for good stuff and expect it to happen; then be grateful. Also: fill your time with what brings you joy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first experience Couchsurfing was when I was on tour with a guerrilla street-theatre musical. It was awesome. Then I hosted a lovely person from the other side of this country. I also hosted a woman who was from my town, but wanted the Couchsurfing experience in her own hometown. She had just come from Standing Rock, so she had good stories, and was on a good mission. Other than that, it's been mostly meetups though other Couchsurfing friends.
Interests
Art, nature, writing, theatre, astrology, travel, vintage fashion, crafts, food, poetry, guitar, singing, public radio (especially storytelling and human interest shows- I also like the science and phenomena stuff).

Music, Movies, and Books
"Wet Hot American Summer," Elvis Costello (just saw him live!), Nina Simone, Charles Mingus, Neil Young, The Band, "Fear of Flying," "Norwegian Wood," "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle" (I like Murakami), "The Sirens of Titan."
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was fifteen, an amazing actor, then playing the Emcee in the national tour of "Cabaret," invited me onstage to dance with him.
I also saw monkeys in the wild.
I suppose the most amazing thing I've done and continue to do is to live a decent and noble life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a lot about poetry, music, theatre, writing, and astrology. I know about New York City and its cultural nuances- I also know a little about New York State. And I know a little bit about sketch comedy!
What I Can Share with Hosts
My sense of humor, amazing dish-washing skills, a limitless mental library of song lyrics, help with proofreading and editing, possible information about their birthday, and anything else (within reason). I also cook a mean breakfast.
