ABOUT ME

Hello there fellow couchsurfers.

What can I say about me, it's always a hard one to talk about yours truly without understating who you are and overstating what you are not.

Ok, here goes nothing. I've never done anything more interesting than wash the dishes and people call me Superman.

Nope nope, that's not it, how about this. My name is Steve, oh, um you know that!!!. Anyhow I work as a marine engineer on board Superyachts for the rich and the famous. I try not to work too hard as I believe that if the opportunities are to enjoy your life you have to take them. As a consequence of this I normally spend a long period of time away form home in what is actually a quite enjoyable job making enough cash to take a good length of time off to go and explore good old planet earth.

Over the last few years I have done a bit of overland travel, in fact as I write this I am driving a fire engine to Mongolia as part of the infamous Mongol charity rally. I am finding that this method of travel is great for making first contact with people from different cultures who find what you are doing interesting.

I have more part time hobbies than I can list but some of the major ones include sailing, cycling, snowboarding, a wee bit of photography and I do teach the odd PADI dive course form time to time.
