Présentation
À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
To escape the hamster wheel and pursue my true calling
ABOUT ME
Late 30's International Development professional, most recently worked in International Public Health but intent is to focus more on sustainable agricultural practices, permaculture, agro-ecology going forward. Currently, in Canada doing HelpX exchange on small homesteads and farms and checking out the sites in Montreal and Quebec City and points in-between.
PHILOSOPHY
Still in evolution but basically to love and serve others in all I do...
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfing primarily, although not too much recently.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Had an awesome experience in Chicago in Summer of 2012 getting the local feel and flavor from a Couchsurfer...and also in Savannah, Georgia where my host was rad enough to drive me cross town to the airport at the crack of dawn to get my flight back home.
Centres d'intérêt
Cooking, baking, photography, learning, experiencing new cultures, traveling, sustainable agriculture, anything to do with cocoa or chocolate
- photography
- cooking
- chocolate

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
Shawshank Redemption, Moonlight, October Sky, Seabiscuit, Gladiator, The Lives of Others, The Constant Gardner...I don't see films very often. With books, tend to lean towards travel narratives...Travels with Charley (like Steinbeck generally) and Travels with a Donkey in the Cevennes. Also historical novels, current events, agriculture, etc. In terms of music, I listen to everything from Bach to Lupe Fiasco to Zouk.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
After an epic hike...arriving at the Boiling Lake in the Commonwealth of Dominica, West Indies. It's probably one of the most physically demanding things I have done and it felt amazing...
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I taught an Ignatian Spirituality workshop for 10 weeks in junior year of undergrad and one of the things I learned that has stuck with me is that when you make a decision in 'consolation' (ie - good times) you shouldn't reverse it if 'desolation' (ie - bad times) sets in.
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
My baking and cooking skills ('flexitarian'); stories from my many travels and Peace Corps experience in the Eastern Caribbean; my wide-ranging knowledge of history and geography and fondness for different cultures and culinary traditions.
Pays que j'ai visités
Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Canada, Denmark, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Grenada, Ireland, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, South Sudan, United States
