About Me

I am Sorina (pronounced similar to Serena). I like to think of myself as an art preacher when at the office (bring some art into that advertising campaign, boys!), touristic guide when at the after office with friends (let's go there and there! and after that we should see the new restaurant that just got opened in town) and dancer when I'm alone.

I like to travel every time with a cultural purpose and to meet and greet people that are new in my town and maybe give some tips and tricks of where and what to look for in Bucharest or Malta, where I live now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Learning. Finding new stuff.

The more different the culture that the information has an origin from the better.
Books are fine. Movies as well. But people...People:). People give you the most interesting insights and beautiful stories.

Music, Movies, and Books

Bonobo, London Grammar, Erik Satie, Fatima Yamaha, Tame Impala, M83, Woodkid, Oh Wonder, Ishome, Glass animals, Gaslamp Killer, Acid Arab.

[A little bit oh trip hop. A little bit of electro. Some piano. And almost everything that has a female voice.]

Baraka, Samsara, The century of the self, Rope, Love, Factory girl, Pina, The grand hotel Budapest, Holy motors, Fahrenheit 451, Ginger and Rosa, Womb, Blue Valentine, Submarine, Drive, Fantastic mr Fox, Vicky Christina Barcelona, Russian dolls, The birds, Heartbeats, Tideland, Hard Candy, Chaotic Ana, Trois couleurs (trilogie): Bleu, Blanc, Rouge.

[I choose movies rather by their colors than their stories. And after watching them all that remains is the music]

Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl, The Art of Travel by Alain de Botton (and almost everything that he wrote), Brave new world by Aldous Huxley, Lolita by Nabukov.

[Recently I started listening to audiobooks. And it's going on really fine. I am saving a lot of time. Also really in love with podcasts like Stuff you should know or Brain Stuff].
