About Me

CURRENT MISSION

When thought becomes excessively painful, action is its finest remedy

ABOUT ME

so many words, so little space :)

PHILOSOPHY

"We are all of us, without ever having any say in the matter, scattered at birth by the wind onto various countries, but like Flaubert, we are in adulthood granted the freedom imaginatively to recreate our identity in line with our true allegiances."

- Alain de Botton, The Art of Travel

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I literally think this is the single best platform ever.

Interests

traveling to weird places I have never heard of - anything involving water - being around the calmness of waves - beaches, any beaches - snowboarding - spelunking - music, - biking - reading, pretending to learn the drums(!) - sustainability - being witty, or at least attempting - drawing / sketching / doodling / painting

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Top 3 "amazing" memories thus far…Losing my memory card off the back of a speeding tuk tuk in no-mans-land Cambodia, having it found by a local village boy, and then getting into some serious black market haggling with the village's headman, yah!ORSpelunking in Laos and getting lost in the caverns, literally, and fearing for my life I was going to die from an unidentified spider bite and no one would find, but it was still awesome none the less,ORTreking up the dunes in the Sahara under the stars with a shoeless French nomad, who offered great conversation and insights on the lifestyle!

Teach, Learn, Share

"At the end of hours of train-dreaming, we may feel we have been returned to ourselves-that is, brought back into contact with emotions and ideas of importance to us. It is not necessarily at home that we best encounter our true selves. The furniture insists that we cannot change because it does not; the domestic setting keeps us tethered to the person we are in ordinary life, who may not be who we essentially are."

-Alain de Botton, The Art of Travel
