ABOUT ME

Hey! My name is Sarah. I am an easygoing Vermonter with a passion for good food. I am very friendly. I love to travel. I always wait until the last minute for every decision. I laugh a lot. I am an adrenaline junkie. I am optimistic, curious, and happy.

I am very active and love being outside. I grew up shredding the green mountains (I love snowboarding!!!) and doing all the other new england sports you can imagine. Especially running, hiking, biking, kayaking, and fishing.

Although I spent the last year in Tulum, Mexico, I have returned to Burlington Vermont to finish my degree in psychology. I am currently plotting my next adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I was in Europe I attempted to surf but it never worked out. Some of my friends from the Netherlands did though and they had a great experience. Since I have been back to the US I have not been able to travel much, because of school, and thus am anxious to participate the only way I can...hosting! I have now hosted two travelers and it was very fun. I love meeting new people so don't be shy.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy watching movies with friends and family but if I am by myself I prefer reading. I am currently reading Speaker for the Dead by Orson Scott Gard. I am not so secretly in love with all 4 of the Twilight books, Calvin and Hobbes, and anything relating to my interests in psychology. The last movie I watched was Perfume and it was excellent and moving.

When it comes to music I have eclectic taste and like anything that moves me. My favorite is electro, house, and reggae.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was snorkeling off the coast of Akumal in Mexico when I came across a large spotted eagle ray. He was huge! We locked eyes and I could feel his intelligence as he glided in a semi-circle observing me surrounded by a wall of coral. I was motionless and after a few moments he was gone.
