ABOUT ME

I am a friendly outgoing kind of gal from Eastern Canada; Newfoundland. I took a one year leave of absence from my job back home to travel around Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Singapore. I arrived in beautiful Sydney 2 months ago. It was here that I was lucky enough to meet some great friends that have introduced me to this wonderful world of couch surfing! Since my arrival to Australia I have travelled along the east coast; Port Douglas, Cairns, Whitsundays, and Brisbane. I have also visited the Blue Mountains and Byron Bay. I have loved my travel here so far and am very excited to visit Melbourne, Tasmania and Perth in the near future. Up until now I have been mainly staying in hostels which has been a great experience of which I have met many new travel friends. I am ready now to meet some local people and get more involved in the cs community.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am very new to this. I have attended a couple of cs bbq's and have met several great friends that have introduced me to this wonderful world of couch surfing!!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Other than cs events (mostly bbqs), I have not participated in couchsurfing itself but am very excited to do so in the very near future.

Interests

I love the outdoors; hiking, biking, rock climbing, swimming, kayaking, snorkeling and camping. I also enjoy dancing, drawing, painting, cooking, hosting dinner parties and dance/theme parties, spending time with family and friends. And of course....TRAVELLING!

Music, Movies, and Books

I am obsessed with music! It consumes my life...day and night! My favorite just to name a few are; Mumford & Sons, Bloc party, KOL, Ray Lamontagne, Arcade Fire, Jeff Buckley, Jack Johnson, Chili peppers, Jen Grant, Norah Jones. I also love Irish Newfoundland music, hip hop and dance music as well as classic country; Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty etc. and much much more.....

Movies...I love comedies (anything with Will Farrel in it)and "rom coms" (Romantic Comedies); dramas and some action movies. I do not enjoy thrillers, any kind of scary or bloody/violent movies.

Books...I love to read and like many. I was in a book club before I started my trip to Australia. Am currently reading "Ticket to Ride" by Sarah Darmody

I would be happy to share some of my cooking and recipes with those interested. Since I am a dietitian I can do my best to answer any nutriton related questions.
Would also love to share travelling stories and tips.
