Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet others who share my vision of joyful existance and promote hope/propagate good ideas for a beautiful future.
ABOUT ME
I aim to be a free spirit, constantly facing my fears and coming out from the shyness which used to hold me back. Now bold and colourful both in lifestyle and dress, I enjoy a challenge and face good and bad with the same determination. I am practical and resourseful, blessed with optimistic realism and good problem solving skills.
I originally come from Manchester but I've lived in Edinburgh for 18 years and having fallen in love with the country I've been adopted as Scottish :-)
For the last few years I've had a small business doing specialist hair-dying (rainbow colours only!) based on my years of personal experience. Current/future projects include natural toothpaste and deodorant plus various botanical tasty treats I hope to launch as a business some day.
PHILOSOPHY
Feel Free! Also be happy and be nice, share what you can and help whoever needs it. These things feed off each other and maximise happiness all around.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I started sofa-surfing years ago with my friends in Edinburgh while hunting for a new flat. I really enjoyed the chance to become closer to more people, getting to know them on a domestic level really helped our friendship. I enjoyed being a part of new household communities, always aiming to be a positive presence, there with a smile and a listening ear where needed. Cooking and cleaning for my flatmates gave me the joy of being useful and made me a very popular sofa-girl :-)
Someone told me about this website back then and I was very happy to find such an amazing thing existing on a global scale!
Since then I have couchsurfed in Austria, Norway and California, all incredibly rewarding experiences! I've had several couchsurfers stay with me over the years aswell and it really is a great way to meet wonderful people from all over the world.
Couch-surfing has saved me in times of need and also helped me develop empathy and understanding for peoples' different lifestyles and needs.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all kinds of music and especially live music! Still a rock chick at heart, i like anything with a good beat and things to say. I love Pink Floyd and the Doors, but have an open mind and will listen to most things. I also enjoy D&B and other dance music, especially when played outdoors at free parties! Dancing is one of my top hobbies and when the urge takes me I will dance to just about anything :-)
I'm an avid reader, especially of good sci-fi and fantasy. I also look for stories about people with an interesting perspective on our social world. Tob Robbins is my favorite writer at the moment, Clive Barker and Robert Anton Wilson also rate very highly!
I enjoy good movies but avoid watching television because of the rubbish it pumps out.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am lucky enough to had had a lot of adventures in my lifetime and look forward to adding more as time goes on. Travelling in South America with a friend who is wheelchair bound will surely provide some interesting challenges and I'm excited to experience all the amazing adventures we'll have along the way.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am optimistic about the future and believe that we can change the world with enough people and power in a positive direction. I have lots of opinions and ideas about things that need to change but always welcome new ideas and perspectives, especially regarding social and political history which can be of great advantage to understanding current social conditions and assessing alternatives.
I am keen to improve my Spanish and also to learn more about the different cultures I meet on my travels.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good company and positive conservation. Happy to share with cooking or any household tasks as required. Dancing, lots of dancing :-)
