About Me

Hi, I'm Stacey, I'm 29 years old and was born and bred in New Zealand but have been living in Western Australia for the past two years.

I'm a really chilled person and love to explore and learn about new places and cultures. I love the outdoors and am always keen to go on an adventure.

I work as a dietitian but I’ve taken a couple of months off work to do some travel around Europe, Alaska and Japan.

I did some CouchSurfing in 2015 while I was traveling and had a fantastic experience. It was so nice to meet such generous, interesting, knowledgeable and hospitable hosts who made my trips so much better. I have therefore signed up again for my current stint of travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea of getting to experience life as a local in places rather than always taking the typical tourist route. I hope to meet some great people and make new friends. I also hope to bring some joy to the experience for you too.

Interests

Outdoors: I grew up in New Zealand so the love for the outdoors and nature is in my blood. I love fishing, camping, swimming, hiking, bike rides, foraging - anything outside in the sunshine is what I enjoy.
Reading: When I can I will sit for hours and read and read and read.
Sports: I've played almost every sport you could think of. Athletics, basketball, rugby, swimming, gymnastics, underwater hockey, karate, soccer etc etc to give you an idea.
Science: I am a nerd.
Food: Favourite food is cheese. Probably the only food in the world I don’t like is olives. I feel like I have a pretty great job as a dietitian getting paid to talk about food all day.

Music, Movies, and Books

Honestly, pretty much anything and everything when it comes to music.
I’ll often let my Spotify algorithm choose my music as a nice and easy way of discovering new artists. Some favourites include Van Morrison, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pacific Avenue, Luke Combs, Sam Fender, COTERIE, Mumford & Sons, Fleetwood Mac, Sam Cooke, Fat Freddy’s Drop.

I love to read/listen to Audiobooks. Whenever I’m driving, folding washing, running or cooking dinner I’ll usually have an audiobook playing. Some of my favourite books include: Convenience Store Woman, Shantaram, Homegoing, I am Pilgrim, Harry Potter.

Some favourites movies would include Shutter Island, Shawshank Redemption, Forrest Gump, The Green Mile, Fight Club, Mrs Doubtfire, Into the Wild, The Prestige, The Gentlemen, Reservoir Dogs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Explored almost every nook and cranny of my home country, New Zealand.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I genuinely want it two be an enjoyable time for the both of us so I'd be more than happy to share stories and conversation, help out with things in the house, go on an adventure, take my host out for dinner or something else you enjoy doing.
